Having worked in Alaska before I could not wait to read this book. I had landed on glaciers and flown on to a lake in the middle of nowhere and to be honest I probably would not of survied if the plane had gone down. I would of naturally drunken the snow not realising that my insides were turning into pnemonia from the outside in. I would of worn a thick jacket not realising that the sweat that jacket would of created actually would turn to ice and would probably have killed me. I had no idea when looking at snow the different colours of a hill actually represent caverns or pure ice. Pretty much I am sure I would not of survived.

I love these books - I am learning so much. Not intentionally mind you, but Bear Grylls tells it in such a way I am just remembering the most simple things. I did not realise that the battery in your phone actually dies faster in the cold weather so they best way to make it last is to keep it somewhere warm like down your pants. Also, if faced with bears you do not run away instead if it is a brown bear you huddle up in a ball and just play dead. Where as a black bear stand up as tall as you can and scream and yell and make as much noise to scare it away. Not knowing any of this I would of ran, and well lets just say it probably would not of been pretty.

Beck Granger is involved in a plane accident and must survive the elements to help save his uncle. He has to climb a mountain surrounded by animals and make it safely to a village to get help. This book is very fast paced and you just don't want to put it down. Like the other Mission Survival books I read this is less than 24 hours. The chapters are not that long but something always happens before the chapter is up that you just think... just one more.

It is such a gripping book that I recommend it to everyone. This book is the second one in the series and I have yet to find the first. It does not matter if you have not read the first one as you just dive straight in to this story.
