Being an early childhood teacher I was not short of tamariki to share this book with. I was quite excited to receive it in my latest KIWIreviews parcel - I had requested it knowing that many of our children love dinosaurs, and we have plenty of boys who are right into toilet humour at the moment.

As my parcels arrive at centre, the book didn't even get the chance to make it home before we had to read it. Although with this book I didn't have to read it - I simply placed the CD into our stereo and let it do the reading for me! There are definitely times when CD books come in handy - and the CD certainly helps to keep the attention of the children at times more than our voices that they hear day in and day out can!

As soon as I pushed play the CD started and the music had us hooked! The tamariki sat quietly, eagerly watching as I opened the first page. "Long, long ago" the words began and I noticed that not one child was moving, and ALL of their eyes were glued on the page! And this is how is how they stayed for the entire book. The music was catchy (I had the chorus part of the story stuck in my head for hours!) and the tamariki had already decided to stamp their feet on all of the "stomp stomp stomp" parts.

When we got to the end, everyone asked for it again. So we did! In fact, over the last couple of weeks we have had this book at least once a day - so it is easy to say it is definitely a favourite! Thank you to KIWIreviews and Scholastic for allowing us to review such an awesome book. It has now got it's place in the cupboard, right above the stereo so it is in easy reach for whenever it is requested.

I have a 5 year old boy who is dinosaur mad and not shy to have a good old giggle when farting is involved so I knew this book and accompaning cd would be a big hit with him. What could possibly make a dinosaur even better than a dinosaur whose farts can knock a T Rex in it's tracks after all. We read the story first before listening to the CD with the song having lots and lots of giggles as we read the words and looked at the pictures.

Along with the funny rhyming story about Stan the stink o saurus are hillarious illustrations which bring an extra level of fun to the book. The author and illustrator have done a great job of combining the words with the pictures to make a great picture book for young children to have a bit of fun with and enjoy. The rhyming format allows for easy reading and a story that the children can soon learn to read along with and the CD helps with this too as it is a lot of fun to listen to and very catchy!

My 5 year old says " I loved Stink-o-Saurus because it was a funny book and it is so funny how Stan farts all the time and scares everyone away with his stink. I liked how he scared the big scary T-Rex away with his stinky farts it was funny because the T Rex only had little arms and couldn't block his nose so he had to run away. Then the other dinosaurs liked Stan because the scary T Rex wasn't there to scare them anymore and steal their things."

Such a great read with your children and good for a good old laugh for adult and child alike we loved the book in our house and listen to the CD a lot too to give mums voice a break, highly recommend the book to other parents if your children love dinosaurs and like mine find the sheer mention of farting a hillarious idea.

This book is so funny and perfect for my kids. They often struggle to pick up books and this one they won't stop reading. My youngest can recite all the words after having it for less than a few weeks and can sing the song on the CD that comes with it. The illustrations are exceptional and the song is so very catchy. My kids love the bit when Tommy (T-rex) is being mean and stan the Stinky-saurus 'trumps'. Tommy has such short arms to reach his nose to block the smell and Stan, using his unique talent saves the dinosaurs. I would suggest this book is great for kids up until about the age of 8 years old and as an adult, I'm enjoying the humour as well.

In my opinion, this is the best one from the Author, and my kids are the biggest of fans of his other two books as well. It's nice to have another to add to the pile as well. I would hazard a guess that this will be very popular in primary schools. It use's the word Trump, which in England is a fun way of saying fart. I like this because it's a fun word without being crass!
