Fifty Shades of Grey product reviews

When college senior Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) steps in for her sick roommate to interview prominent businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) for their campus paper, little does she realize the path her life will take.

Christian, as enigmatic as he is rich and powerful, finds himself strangely drawn to Ana, and she to him. Though sexually inexperienced, Ana plunges headlong into an affair -- and learns that Christian's true sexual proclivities push the boundaries of pain and pleasure.

I found the book tedious and long winded and so very repetative. I seriously do not understand how it has the cult following. I have read the first two books and half way through the third and yet two years later it still sits on my bedside table still unfinsihed. I had heard so many mixed reviews over the movie that I decided to wait until I could view for free.

Dakota Johnson did a fantastic job of Anastasia and I found her casting was spot on. However, Jamie Dornan is no Christian Grey. He does demands the strength and visual appeal that Christian is suppose to and I found him far to skinny for my liking. His eyes did not pop enough and I found there was absolutely no sexual chemistry between the two. At times it was like watching two complete strangers try and make out.

I actually did not mind the movie. It was not fantastic at all but it was not as bad as I was assuming it to be. Completely watchable. My husband hated it and thought the script was terrible, but then, it is just like the book except in the book Christian was not a weak snivelling man who chased after Anastasia the way he is portrayed in the movie. The sex scenes where very down played and really did not show a lot. The movie was more about their relationship and getting to "that stage".

I enjoyed the soundtrack and found I was humming away to Beyonce's song long into the night. The budget did feel rather high. I am looking forward to the next movie.
