Having a three year old and a six year old it is very hard to get a game that suits everyone. Santa brought this last christmas and as I assumed it was just like Monopoly I kept putting it off. After the persistant cry of wanting to open it I finally relented today. I was very concerned it was not going to be age appropriate as it does say five plus - my worry was extremely unwarranted.

This is fantastic for children just learning how to count. We played with the four of us and you are each allocated fourteen $1 notes. All properties are placed on the board and if you land on them you are required to buy them. Each set of properties only has two places. Chance cards either direct you straight to a coloured square or makes you pay the party box. Just like normal monopoly you shake the dice and make your way around the board.

It is so simple my three year old was loving it. My six year old got extremely cocky as she ended up winning and my husband was sulking cause he lost all his properties and eventually his money much to the enjoyment of the girls. It was very fun and we played three games straight, although that was the limit for both girls. The board is fun and colourful and holds everyones attention. It does become quite cluttered after all the property is sold as you place your cupcake on the square to show its owned. If someone is very lucky to own both coloured properties they get twice the amount of money.

Surprisingly because you are hardly ever making it around the full board you do not get the oportunity to collect that much needed $2. Money does run out very fast unless you are really lucky and people keep landing on you. The first person to go bankrupt finishes the game and however has the most money at the end is the winner. A great family game and one we will be playing regularly now. I love how educational it is and also it is cute how everyone gangs up on the daddy.
