Product reviews...
So recently my Partner has been telling me about these amazing pulled pork pizza's he has been having ftom Dominos Pizza's. during his Friday work shouts. So on Monday while grocery shopping at New World I happened to come across this new product Slow-cooked Pulled Duroc Pork (there was also slow-cooked Beef and Slow-Cooked Lamb in the range). As this happened to be on special I decided to grab a pack and have a go at recreating this amazing sounding pulled-pork pizza I had heard so much about.
To prepare the pork is simple, though probably a bit different to what you'd usually expect. It can be done either in the microwave or on the stove top, but as the microwave is recommended I decided to go with this. All I had to do was pierce a small hole in the tip of the bag and cook on high for 3 minutes, and it's done simple as that. Perfectly heated through it was good to go.
I prepared a home made pizza base with smokey BBQ sauce, then added some salami, baby spinach, a good serve of the pulled pork and lashings of mozarella, after cooking in the oven it was time for the first initial taste test. So my partner was happy the pizza was a close match to the store brought one and apparently. the meat was much more meaty tasting. I was impressed myself the meat was well flavoured and extremely juicy and succulent and perfect as a pizza topping. With the small remainder of pulled pork we had left over I used this as a filling in tacos for dinner tonight, along with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, cheese, mayo and bbq sauce the flavours worked well together and you could taste the pork amongst the other fillings.
I'm sure there are many different ways to use this pork, and with it being so easy to use and tasty I'd definitely buy again if I found it on sale.
