I have a love hate relationship with tea. I do not drink hot tea, but I can have flavored ice tea now and again. I can not understand how people can drink hot tea regularly, whether it be standard or flavored teas, it is just foreign to me. I am a committed coffee drinker, but I am happy to try products that are flavored with tea lol so you can imagine my surprise when I tried this and liked it. I did not love it, but I did like it.
The dark chocolate is amazing. So rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with the tea flavor. It really is a refreshing flavor of chocolate. The square sizes for each piece are massive in comparison to the small shares of chocolate we are used too, but these are also really thin blocks of chocolate. You kind of feel let down when you feel / see how thin the blocks are. However the flavors make up for the thinness, as they really are full of flavor.
These really are a rather classy block of chocolate, from the large squares with awesome pictures right down to the fancy packaging that immediately catches the eye. I like that the squares are large enough that you could have one on the side of your plate next to your coffee or tea cup for an element of class. So although this is not my favorite flavor in the range it is definitely not a let down, and is one I did enjoy. The small size does mean it did not last long :(
I was so excited to try this chocolate and love the artwork on the case, how much more kiwi can you get than that. The actual information about the product is crisp and clean, without being overwhelming. Being Waikato tea had me really happy that it was from somewhere I actually know. Boy was I let down.
The dark chocolate it's self is one of the best I have tasted but that's where it ends. It doesn't have that horrible taste that a lot of dark chocolates have. Out of the 6 that tried this with me, 4 spat it out after taking a bite of the square. Have you seen the size of those squares, they are HUGE for a chocolate block. The pictures on the chocolate are pretty cool too and rather well done.
Texture wise I can't remember the physical property's of what it was like but it definitely wasn't bad and didn't leave an oily texture. If you like tea, this might be the treat for you.
I wouldn't turn it down if I was offered it but I wouldn't rush out and buy it, nor would I suggest my friends buy it. I love the advertising for it though.
