I have seen a few of Channing Tatum ' movies so when a friend suggested that we watch Step Up I didn't hesitate as I knew I could at least expect some great dancing. I enjoyed the music and the dancing but found the story a bit confusing as they seemed to start dancing for no reason. I found also that it didn't hold my attention the same way his other movies have.
There were some sad parts but that was kind of expected, the movie seemed to have two stories, one that includes dancing and some kind of discipline and on the other hand is a life on the streets with no rules. Some comments did make me smile and some had me laughing just due to the situation and how obvious some parts were.
There are some follow up movies but quite often the follow up movies never deliver the same impact as you watch a movie and then the big name stars are missing and the story is not the same standard. I do enjoy a good dance movie as I can't dance like that but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a good looking guy showing off his body as he moves.
To be honest I probably won't watch this movie again but that is only due to how slow the start of the movie is and the confusing story.
