My husband and I enjoy watching superhero movies, though we have yet to see Age of Ultron, the kids have had limited viewing of superheros but know who is who so I knew they would still like to read and own this book. My eldest wouldn't be able to read this on his own yet so I've read it to them a couple of times now and each time I get a barrage of questions about who and why and what. The writing style isn't a style I like and so I don't look forward to reading it but I do because I know how much they enjoy it.
The illustrations are well done, nothing too graphic in it but the main thing that I was looking out for was to see how many times Black Widow appeared in the book (as she has been shunted out of a lot of Avengers items recently) and was very happy to see that she appears in there a really good amount of time, just as much as any other character in the book. It's not a huge book but it gives the story well (and now I know how the movie ends ) and is the perfect size for my children to read and hold.
This is a good book and my kids are happy to have this in their collection.
We haven't seen the movie and I wasn't even sure that this was a book my girls would be interested in but as some as Miss Seven saw it it was under intense scrutiny. I have had to read it cover to cover with them several times and Miss Four just keeps begging me to read it again and again!
The Book has fantastic colour illustrations though they aren't incredibly detailed. This doesn't seem to worry my girls and I wondered if they were detailed if my girls would be quite so interested as the detail might scare them a little. Anyway I think I was expecting the book to have minimal dialogue and the writing to be fairly large and brief. I was very wrong. The story is in fact very detailed and it feels like we are reading a proper book.
For that reason I think that this book is great value for money as it provides good entertainment and although I haven't seen the movie I imagine the book follows the movie story line very closely.
My three girls aged 8 years, 7 years and 4 years are fans which makes me think this book will appeal even more to boys but that it is a great book for both genders. I would definitely recommend this as a brilliant book whether or not you have seen the movie.

When Jamie inherits a trunk of her grandmother's things, she never expects to find the biggest surprise of all, Grandma's diary. Violating the privacy of a diary is something Jamie would never do unless she was absolutely certain that she wanted to do it. And when she does, she learns that, deep down, everyone is exactly the same. Dumb.
