My husband adores Marvel and DC Comic Books. He loves his superheros and has taught our two children everything about the characters. As soon as the Avengers Age of Ultron movie had its date set in New Zealand movies my husband declared that we would be going - well he would go without me if he needed to. But being the dutiful wife that I am I went along.

He came home and told the girls all about it. When I saw that this Poster Book was up for review I just knew that I had to get it. I was not sure who would want it more my girls or the big boy. Opening up our KIWIreview box my daughter squealed when she saw the book and quickly grabbed it and jumped on the couch to go through it. Her first comment was 'cool stickers' then she turned the page and said 'oh I already know everything about the characters I don't need more information' and put it to the side until I informed her that it was a poster book - her eyes lit up and she quickly picked it up and said 'can I rip them out now?'. I had to say that dreadful line 'wait till your daddy gets home'.

As soon as he walked through the door he spotted it on the couch and rushed over and looked through it. He got rather excited with the big Giant poster. Then the arguments started. So I had to take it off the three of them.

I have to say I love the fact they have the perforation down the side so its easy pull out and nothing gets damaged. The pictures are rather basic and not as sharp as I would of liked but it suits the girls. Not all of the pictures where liked but the majority where. In the end the girls have the pictures and my husband is allowed to look at them only if he is good.

My two daughters (5 and 6.5 years) both really love anything to do with superheroes. They were delighted to see that I had been given the Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron poster book to review. This proved to be a good incentive for them to tidy their bedroom. After all I can't hang posters when I can't walk across the room safely.

The book consists of one giant poster and 16 A4 sized posters (well actually 8 double sided small posters) and a page of stickers. The giant poster was loosely glued into the back of the book and fell out the first time we looked through the book. This meant that the poster wasn't damaged removing it from the book which has been an issue for us in other poster books. The A4 posters formed the book and were removed by tearing the perforation. I am pleased it was me that removed these from the book as I am sure the girls would have ripped them if they had attempted it.

Some of the smaller posters had a biography of the characters only about a paragraph each. This allowed it to be used as bedtime reading a few times before it was converted into wall posters. I allowed my girls to put the stickers on the posters, rather than my walls or furniture, and they loved doing this and talked about all the Avengers as they were doing this.

The only downside for me was this book is targeted at children (although I know a few adults that wouldn't mind it) is promoting a movie that has been given an M rating in New Zealand due to the level of violence. Hopefully my girls will be happy with the posters as their mean parents won't be letting them watch it on the screen. At least for now they are happy with the new decorations on their wall. In a few weeks I can flip the small posters over to reveal the other side and give the wall a different look which is a bonus.
