This has to be one of the most well known tales of the past few generations. Scrooge is a miser, he does everything he can to spend as little as possible and pays as little a wage as he can get away with. He then is visited by three ghosts, one that shows him how his past used to be, what is going on right now in the present and what will become of him in the future should he not change his ways. This is great for showing the kids that sad things can happen in life but you can't let them take over your life nor change how you treat people.
Having seen The Polar Express, the animation for this film wasn't hard to get used to this style. The various characters look like those voicing them, so it was easy to see who was voicing whom and it suited the movie well as I think if Scrooge wasn't made to look like Carrey that it would have felt all a bit odd. There were a couple of moments that had the kids a little concerned but they were all happy to watch it through to the end and then full of questions as to why Scrooge was so mean, why was he scared, why did he hate Christmas etc. so it was thought provoking for the kids as well. Another yearly Christmas movie to watch.
