I often by Light 'n Tasty cereal, but normally the berry flavour which I absolutely love. I decided to try the almond for a change and I wasn't surprised to learn that it was delicious just like the berry one. The coconut clusters are delicious and you can tell it is real coconut, not flavouring or artificial things. The slivers of almonds were also tasty, and there are lots of coconut clusters and almond slivers throughout the cereal. I hate when you buy a cereal and there are hardly any of the 'good bits'. With Light 'n Tasty they don't rip you off like that!
The ingredients are all healthy and filling foods, to leave you feeling fuller for longer and with more energy. The calorie count is also quite low which is something I rate quite important on my list.
I eat this cereal with yoghurt as I am not a huge fan of milk and it tastes delicious. The texture of the cereal is satisfying- crunchy and fresh, with the big crunchy clusters and almonds, but I did miss the chewiness that I get from the berries in the berry flavour of this cereal.
I buy this cereal from Pak 'n Save, where it is about $6 to $7 per box. This does seem quite expensive but when you consider the nutritional value and the taste it does make it a worthwhile purchase.
My only issue with this cereal is that now my fiance has discovered that he likes it too, there is less left for me! By the way, if my fiance likes it, I am sure children will love it because he has a bit of a sweet tooth.

I am a fan of almonds so I was very keen to try the new light n tasty. The picture on the box showed a variety of ingredients, and pouring it into my bowl I wasn't disappointed. The flavour was really good! It had a lovely texture in my mouth, and the taste was delightful. In fact it was such a hit I thought I would risk offering my children 'healthy' food. They turned their noses up at the idea of muesli, so I made a trail mix up for the kids (I admit I threw in a couple of M&M's to make it child friendly). That afternoon I opened up the lunchboxes and found the 'trail blaze' all gone, very quickly followed by requests for more. Music to my ears, I love finding a way to get healthy food into my children, even if I have to enhance it with a few M&M's (sorry Sanitarium).

My husband found the open box and gave it a go for his breakfast, and he declared 'you can buy that again' which equates to high praise, especially for a man who wouldn't actively seek out muesli. The box is a great representation of the product inside, and makes interesting reading when you see all the nutritional benefits of this cereal. I would like to say that health benefits defines whether I buy something or not, but in our household its taste, and I'm happy to say this passed the taste test, even though it had a little refinement for my girls.

When I was picking up some review goodies recently, I asked if I could get a box of this. I love coconut flavoured things and especially in a cereal. The almonds I would normally not be that fussed on, but the golden oats sounded good. So I got to take a box home and I was very pleased.

When I broke the box open the next day, I suddenly had an audience. There I was on the couch with a toddler so close to my bowl I was confused she wanted to push her face into it. I asked for some room, she asked for some cereal. That was when I made the mistake. I shared. And that one act of kindness was repaid in her quickly helping me through this box.

You see, this cereal is really really good. It is sweet, with the coconut and the golden oats. It has a good crunch. The almonds are pretty good, and definitely have a good snap to them. It is one tasty tasty cereal. But she and I were eating through it so quickly, that before I knew it I didn't have any left. Not even enough to do my normal experimentation on. I wanted to get my bake-on - pouty face.

So I started looking around for a replacement box. I tried Three of my local supermarkets. The first didn't stock it at all. The second had one opened box on the shelf, so that was not cool. You should have seen my face when I saw the box was open. And then you should have heard the argument in my head about whether to buy it anyway!

Eventually though, today I found a supermarket with lots on the shelf. So now I know where to go when I need more of this deliciousness. Thanks so much for my new addiction!

As always - when I receive word that there is a new product for me to review on its way, I get excited. My husband was also very excited - knowing he ( and the kids ) would get to try some of it too! We have eaten Light and Tasty on and off - and being a coconut lover, this one tingled my taste buds!

From the flavour description - I was anticipating yummy almond and coconut bits - and a nice crunchy cereal and I was not disappointed. The box is very appealing and entices you in with the delectable combination of flavour. It has plenty of information about the nutritional aspects of the cereal too.

My kids and hubby all wanted some at the same time as me - and unfortunately that meant almost all the box was gone. However, if it had of being just me, I would have made it last at least a week, and as the recommended serving ( which I try and stick to! ) is smaller than what we served, that is absolutely possible.

The oat clusters are delicious, and, just as I like it - they keep their consistency and shape. The extra "bits" in the cereal are delicious - the almond slices, and coconut pieces, making it a nice combination of sweet and crunchy. All 3 of my children enjoyed this also - and it kept them satisfied longer than their standard cereal ( wheat biscuits ), and they liked it more!

This is a delicious, flavoursome cereal that was a hit with all of the family. At $5.99 it is not too pricey and something we will keep in our cupboard as a regular cereal option. We are now going to try a few of the other flavours too - and hopefully they are as yummy!

I got this just before Christmas so I didn't really get a chance to try it until now. Spent too much time with the rellies in the King Country and there is always heaps of grub at their place. Mum runs the farm's massive gardens and Dad hunts a lot. Now that I am back in civilisation I get to eat breakfasts that have carbs in them.

I was blown away by how good this tasted. Most breakfast mueslis I have tried in the past have been more like shredded cardboard and sawdust with milk and they needed a really unhealthy amount of sugar just to make them edible. This wasnt the case with this one. Even without adding sugar I thought this was a really tasty breakfast and I could have eaten double my normal amount and still wanted more.

The box was a bit small for me. It only last 4 servings. This is not a normal amount, but it was pretty tasty as I said. I would like to see bigger boxes of it on the shelf. I have looked, and I can only find this sized box so if Sanitarium make bigger ones I don't know why I can't find it on the market shelves.

I know this site loves it when reviewers get creative with food products but this was just too good to waste on experimenting. I liked it just as it was, nothing fancy. But I did also try it with some tinned fruit salad and that was incredible. I didn't need to add any sugar at all. My favourite bit was the big slivers of coconut. I love coconut so it was very appealing for me to see it in there.

I am, by nature, a night-owl person. "Eating breakfast" is normally as foreign a concept to me as "being filthy rich" or "being able to teleport" - it's a nice idea, but it just doesn't happen. However, after a long-distant encounter with another version of this cereal, I was willing to give it a go... even if it did mean having cereal at 1pm.

A bowl of this, some milk, a teaspoon of coconut sugar sprinkled over it, and some freshly-sliced banana on top... and I was ready. What a delight! The cereal was so full of flavour, I had a second bowl without the sugar and banana and loved it even more. It was relatively filling - I have never found cereal to fill me up for more than a few minutes - but was so full of flavour that eating a second bowl was no chore at all, and THAT left me feeling full for a while.

I really wish I could bring myself to take this cereal into the kitchen and experiment with it - using it as part of a fruit crumble topping would be a great idea I think, but it's just so darned tasty I can't bring myself to risk botching it and wasting a bowlful or two of the only cereal I can see myself enjoying.

Overall, a winner. For someone who has never really been a fan of cereals in any form - except as ingredients in something else - to feel this positive about a breakfast muesli is a remarkable thing indeed.

Light and Tasty! All you need to know right there! A busy mum, I often do not eat breakfast till all the kids have been dressed, fed and out the door. I first tried this with natural yoghurt and sliced banana it was absolutely divine, it has the perfect amount of crunch to it as well. The proportions of almonds and coconut clusters are just right.

My three year old isn't one to try new food but disguised by yoghurt he gave it a go and came back for more. The older children were not as eager to give it a try. The box says you will get 9 servings from the box but as I am not a big eater I imagine I will get many more than that especially when teamed with yoghurt and fresh fruit.

Being the holidays we spend plenty of time at the beach I packed a container with boysenberry sauce, natural youghurt and about half a cup of Sanitarium's Light & Tasty which made a delicious and pretty healthy snack it will be perfect to take to course when I start my studies next year!

If you like coconut I think you will enjoy this, the taste is delicious and is the perfect start to any day!

I was excited to try this light and tasty cereal for the first time - I've often looked at the light and tasty brand of cereals but haven't been sure whether to try it or not. The flavour combination of this had me won over from the first time I seen it and I have to say I wasn't disappointed with the flavour punch that this cereal delivered. If you like almonds and coconut then this product is definitely for you!

Upon reading the box I really liked the fact that there was lots of good/healthy points about this cereal - calcium, fibre, iron and folate. If I'm going to eat something then it may as well be at least a little bit good for my body! The first way I tried this cereal was matched with natural yoghurt and pears - this was totally delicious. Even with the added pears and yoghurt the taste of coconut and almonds still shone through. Generally this is how I much prefer to eat my cereal, however I did try this with milk for reviewing and the cereal was still as good.

The clusters throughout this cereal are so yummy, balanced with the bran straw, flakes and oat pieces. The mixture of all these works really well together an overall the cereal has the right amount of crunch to it - not to little and not to much but just perfect Smile Icon I also love that you can actually see the coconut pieces and almond slices. I would say this a huge reason why this light and tasty tastes exactly as described on the packet. Something I totally appreciated as there is nothing worse than something tasting nothing like as described.

According to the packet the box contains 9 serves but I feel it really does depend on how you eat your cereal - normally I would get a lot more from the box than 9 serves as I don't have a huge amount mixed with fruit and yoghurt. My husband on the other hand would demolish the box in 4 mornings if I let him! I also used this cereal in my baking (making biscuits) and so that again affected the serves.

A wonderful delicious cereal that I totally recommend to others. I know this will certainly be going on our shopping list next week! It works well in baking and tastes amazing - go out and try it today! Smile Icon

Product image for Arborio RiceSunRice Arborio Risotto Rice is grown in Australia and originates from Arborio in Italy. It is traditionally used in cooking Italian Risotto, Spanish Paella, Greek Dolmades and other Mediterranean dishes.

During cooking the grains swell and absorb unusually large amounts of liquid and flavour. Stirring also gently knocks the rice grains together, releasing the surface starch on each grain. This adds to the creamy consistency of the dish, perfect for an authentic risotto.
