A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

The only thing remotely scary in this remake is how unbelievably slow and drawn out the scenes were. Also the way Carrie prances around with her arms like a weird conductor as she attacks her various school mates. Terrifying pathetic is the words I would use.
I don't understand the necessity to remake a movie by making it exactly the same. Granted they have added some new scenes, which were not in the original and they have tried to over explain everything including her abilities. The birth of Carrie and her potential execution was totally unnecessary and if anything just made you feel uncomfortable. It still feels like its an old movie with the use of a dull lens, it does not feel modern at all even though they do use cell phones and computers. It is not vibrant and colourful, more dreary and dark.
The story is still the same. Carrie the weird Christian girl who everyone picks on at school. Goes to prom and has pigs blood tipped onto her and she goes crazy and kills a bunch of people thru telekinetic terror. Its just not as well done as the original. Julianne Moore was really good as her over zealous Christian mother, who believes everyone and everything is a sin and in the end you just wanted to hit her. But Chloe Grace Moretz who played Carrie was just tragic. Her tedious looks and the way she moves was totally annoying. If you want to watch Stephen Kings book stick to the original at least John Travolta is in that one.
