The front cover of this children's book immediately caught my eye whilst the titled immediately appealed to Miss Six and Miss Three. They both love dinosaurs and we are slowly amassing a stack of dinosaur books that get read almost daily. This looks like it will be added to the pile as my girls just loved the illustration's in this book. They are big, bold and bright and very funny. Miss Three likes just reading this book to herself so I think the illustrations intrigue her. The girls especially loved the little baby dinosaurs A, B and C and Miss Six keeps trying to teach Miss Three to pick out the correct letters! So I am not sure if it was intentional but this book is a little bit educational also.

So anyway with dinosaurs and the word Poo as central themes in this book it was always going to make my kids laugh and indeed laugh they did. They just thought it was hilarious but also had lots of questions about the dinosaurs and them becoming extinct which meant that we were able to use this book as a platform to discuss the impact of natural disasters, environmental factors etc on extinction of different species.

We haven't read the previous two stories, so I am not sure if the theme of a dinosaur pooping eventually grows tired, but looking at this as a one off book it was certainly a hit with my two and a good one to get out if I want to make them laugh. I think if your child likes toilet humor and dinosaurs then they, like my two, will find this a winning combination.
