After a near-tragic diving experience at the age of 19 in 1987 Keoghan got to thinking about all of the things he wanted to do before he died. There were so many that he began a wish list then embarked on a series of adventures ranging from enjoying a five-star meal on the top pf an erupting volcano to getting married underwater. He found that while often off-the-wall, quirky and sometimes even downright dangerous, each experience enriched his life in unexpected ways and evolved a philosophy focussed on getting the most out of life.
Through this book Keoghan helps the reader to start thinking about experiences they've always hankered after, and to start their own list. Drawing on his own amazing adventures as well as the stories of ordinary people who have taken up his challenge, NOW is a call to action that will inspire the reader to:
Test their physical limits, venture off the beaten track, rediscover their childhood, shed their inhibitions, get in touch with nature, rekindle romance in thier life and explore their creative side.

This book is an easy to read and inspiring self-improvement guide to helping you create a 'list for life' and do those special things you always wanted to do. Most so-called ultimate experiences or N.O.W moments seem to come under eight different themes: facing your fear, getting lost, testing your limits, taking a leap of faith, rediscovering your childhood, shedding your inhibitions or expressing yourself, breaking new ground, and aiming for the heart. This last one refers to living your dream through helping others live theirs.
Most of the examples and topics covered in this book seem to be of the extreme adventure, leisure activity variety, but even if your dreams are somewhat quieter and less physical Phil Keoghan writes so enthusiastically that it's easy to translate this to any other topic and turn his enthusiasm towards whatever your own dreams are. But, urges Phil throughout the book, you must not just sit back and enjoy his philosophy and fascinating examples of ordinary people throughout the world who have taken the challenge to get the most out of life (Banana George is my favourite example). You must discover your own list "and do it - NOW!"
