The third Star Trek series concerns Benjamin Sisko, commander of the space station Deep Space Nine, who discovers the first known stable wormhole - a virtual shortcut through space that leads to the Alpha Quadrant to the Gamma Quadrant on the other side of the galaxy.

This final season of deep space nine has something for everyone.
Ezri wasn't supposed to be joined with the Dax symbiant but had no choice, so she got an episode early on reflecting her struggle (including an incredible scene with Garak). Nog loses a leg in battle, and then his nerve. There was a hilarious comedy episode where the DS9 crew took on a Vulcan crew in a game of baseball ("We will destroy them," says a matter-of-fact Worf). There was reall well done character development with Ben and Jake Sisko, plus Odo and Worf and Dr. Bashir.
The ending... phew! what an episode, all our favourite characters scattered about doing things of their own, of course I can't say too much due to spoilers. The Dominion war takes main stage in the final season, which during my first viewing of this season was good, second viewing I just didn't enjoy it as much and so now I don't watch it as often. But... If I got for a marathon of Deep Space Nine there is nothing quite like the conclusion and having the story arc that was started back in season one reach its grand conclusion.
Deep Space Nine did a great job, it's just disappointing that they didn't really leave it open for a movie of its own.
