Welcome back to Star Trek and the world of The Next Generation.
The cast and crew of Star Trek the Next Generation has found it's groove and only improves upon itself in this season. Whilst some of the script is still amusing when it shouldn't be, the delivery of the lines and overall vibe of the script is far better this time around and feels less strained and more genuine. Having lost a valued crew member at the end of the first season the crew still have a sense of vulnerability to them, which is good, it wasn't just brushed over, and the crew are that much closer.
There are some sombre episodes here as well as some rather fun ones. In this season we are also introduce to one of the biggest bad guys of the Star Trek universe, The Borg! The Borg was one of the best choices Star Trek made (much like Dr Who and the Daleks), and our first introduction to them sets the Borg up well for all future episodes (and movie). Elementary, Dear Data is a fun one where Geordi ends up making a hologram that can beat Data (I'm sure part of Voyager took ideas from this episode).
A Really good second season for The Next Generation and it only gets better.
