When I first came across Export Lemon was with my husband. Thought it was a beer with lemon in it. Wasn't keen as I usually like fresh lemon with my beers (i.e. Corona). He told me to give it a try and man did it hit the spot on a hot summers day. This is one of my go-to alcoholic beverages of choice in the summer/ when it's particularly hot out. Almost ideal for a bbq, picnic, or get together with friends on the beach or at a party. Definitely suited for the hot days and not so much on colder ones. I don't really touch it in winter.

Despite enjoying this beverage in the summer, I do find that after having a few it becomes a bit too sweet and I need to switch to something else. I'm not usually a big drinker, so find that a few is just fine. Even though this is one of my go-to drinks, I do like the grapefruit flavour better. It has a stronger taste even if sweeter. I'd classify this as a ladies drink, but it seems to get the approval from the men-folk. A fair few times I've seen my husband bypass the beer for one of these babies. ;)

What better place to enjoy a nice cold beer than at the beach on a lovely autumn day? Well, actually, the answer to that, is probably, any time can be a good time for nice cold beer!

My husband and I sat down to lunch today with a Export Citrus beer with lemon. My initial impression was that it had a very fresh taste. I could taste the fact that it was beer but it also had a lovely citrus flavour to it. My husband had poured it for me and I knew that I had a bottle of grapefruit and a bottle of lemon to try and I couldn't place which one this was when I first tried it. In fact, I thought that it was more likely to be the grapefruit one. It wasn't unnecessarily sweet, which I see as a very good point. I often like a shandy in the summer time and I think that this beer would provide a great alternative. It would mean that I wouldn't have to have access to lemonade as well as beer. I think that it is a much more refreshing drink than shandy and it also tastes less sweet.

My husband likes to have the odd drink of beer. He also enjoyed this drink. We thought that it wouldn't replace his desire for a beer every now and then, but it would be great to have as an option on a hot day or as if he is driving. The alcohol content is only 2% and equates to 0.5 of a standard drink.

Since having children, and the resulting lack of alcohol intake, I have found that my tolerance for alcohol has reduced significantly. It is nice to be able to have a drink or two with friends and family without too much alcohol making its way into my system. I like the idea of low alcohol drinks being available on the market. This range fills a nice gap for me.

The branding on the bottle is very familiar and I think that Export drinkers will trust it to give it a go. I do, however, think that it is unlikely to attract people who are big beer drinkers as I would imagine that they would think that the low alcohol would make it not real beer.

I love this version of Export Citrus and it is definitely a drink I would consider if I felt like a beer. It could even be something that I might stock in my fridge over the summer!

I wasnt recently given a bottle of DB lemon citrus to try. I was both intrigued and unsure about it. I am not a big drinker, it happens very rarely, but I am an even lesser fan of lemon products. I always think lemon products have a slight cat pee smell to them, so I generally wont buy lemon stuff. I am happy to report that this beer does not smell like cat pee lol

My 15yo son and I shared this citrus lemon beer and had it with on taste of india simmer meal. As my son is only 15 he is not and has not been a drinker. In fact hes only consumed about 3/4s to one bottle in his life time, which included just under half of this bottle lol but enough for him to say he quite liked it. Not as strong as the other beer he has had and a nicer after taste. Very nice and easy to drink and refreshi g with our meal.
I have to agree with him, the refreshing lemon drink did go nicely with our meal. It was easy to drink and nice to wash the spicey food down with.

Its not at the top of my list of drinks to consume regularly, but it is a reasonably nice drop at a pretty good price. Its refreshing, and has a nice after taste. It would be great for beach party, BBQ, summer drink without breaking the bank :)

As someone who is not a big drinker let alone a beer drinker this did not appeal to me at all but after I won a box and had a taste of hubby's I had instantly changed my mind! I'd say its a Ladies beer!! Hubby wasn't overly impressed with it and thought it tasted "watered down" and looked murky although it says on the box that will settle so no biggie, he said he'd have it as and after work drink but not something he would go out of his way to purchase and not for a night out with the boys!

It has a subtle beer taste and a lovely refreshing citrus flavour. Great after a long day or quiet drinks. Perfect for 1-2 drinks if your are a sober driver and feel that way inclined! Personally as someone who is not a big drinker I like the fact that it is only 2% as I can have more and not feel as though I am getting drunk.

It is definitely something I would look at purchasing in the future. The price is in line with other beer on the market and would only purchase when on special and if I had something to go to, a birthday etc.

I really don't know what they were thinking with this one. This overly citrus drink consisting of only 2% alcohol, is more like a fruit juice than a beer. No matter how I try, I see this as nothing more than a mixer. Nothing about this drink makes me think alcoholic beverage. Even the cloudiness of the beverage within the green bottles, reminds me of Schweppes Ginger beers.

Alcohol had gateway drinks then this would be it. I have tried it on a few occasions, but never got that satisfying, rewarding feeling that I would normally get when I sit down after a hard day of work and open a beer. But I am a pretty heavy drinker, so I am biased in that regard. I do know many people that dislike the taste of beer, that will gladly down a few of these Export Citrus drinks, and I have also seen it used as a mixer with vodka on several occasions (I have even seen it mixed with wine).

So it is more versatile than a regular beer, but regular beer was never meant to be versatile. So as a beer, it fails in my eyes. But categorized as nothing more than a brewed beverage, it does well; it has many uses, and it can be drunk by a variety of different tastes.

Ok so I don't drink alcohol except for the very occasion shandy and that is like a year event if that. So when I won a dozen bottles of this I automatically gave to my husband. After trying one he persuaded me to try, which I eventually caved to and I have to say I am glad I did. After a hard day of the girls fighting and nothing going right I was like most of the world and sat down to have a beer. It is like a very lemony Shandy - it is delicious. My nana came over the next night for dinner and we gave her this to try and the next day she ran out to buy a case as she too does not drink except for the occasion shandy and she was won over.

Looking at it, it looks like it needs a good shake or that its moldy inside - looks very cloudy and really not that appetising but after reading the box it puts your mind to rest as states 'naturally cloudy - contents may settle'. Going down it tastes refreshing and light but with a lemon tinge.

If you are like me and do not drink often then this is the drink for you especially since it is only the 2% alcohol. I think this is one we will always have in the house for those occasions of needing to relax after a hard day.
