Nicky Deuce product reviews

Based on the book "Nicky Deuce: Welcome to the Family" by Steve Schirripa (The Sopranos - Bobby) and Charles Fleming, Nicky Deuce is a laugh-out-loud TV movie adventure that reunited Schirripa with other original cast members of The Sopranos.

iCarly's Gibby (Noah Munck) is all grown up as Nicholas AKA Nicky Deuce, who learns how to "man up" while spending time with the uncle he never knew he had (Steve Schirripa) and finding love (with Degrassi's Cristine Prosperi) during the best summer of his life.

My daughter loves these disney channel/nickelodeon movies so I jumped at the chance to review this DVD as I knew it was something right up her alley. She had watched it already on Nickelodeon Channel but was definitely keen to watch it again as she had really enjoyed it. So me and her watched it together when it arrived and she has since watched it again and again. I personally wouldn't watch it more than once not that it was a bad movie or anything but it is definitely in that Nickelodeon TV Programme style and I see enough of that on a daily basis lol.

In this movie Nicholas Borelli played by the iCarly star Noah Munck lives an ordinary life, a little too safe eating gluten free flavour free food and staying away from any trouble has to go stay with his grandmother and uncle for a short time where he learns a different way of living. He undergoes a major transformation becoming Nicky Deuce and living on the edge as he thinks his Uncle his part of the mob and tries to save him from being arrested by becoming involved in the mob himself.

The funny moments arrive as Nicky knocks out a tough guy completly by mistake and becomes a talked about man. The hijinks lead him to steal a horse and try to conceal it in an effort to prevent his Uncle from getting arrested. When he realises his Grandmother has been kidnapped he must man up and play the part to save his grandmother. Then realising his Uncle wasn't a mob member after all, instead he was an undercover cop and had the situation all under control!

The storyline was a little predictable but it was still enjoyable and definitely gave me a few laughs that's for sure. I think it is a good family movie and good for young children as it is completely harmless being that it was produced as a TV movie for Nickelodeon Channel. It is good to have movies like that for my 11 year old where I don't have to worry about adult themes so I am definitely fine with her watching this movie as much as she likes.
