This is my second favourite Kebab shop in Palmerston North!
The prices are reasonable and most meals come with a cold drink.
Their Kebabs are delicious and come with two sauces, my favourites are mayo and sweet chilli. They are a great size and leave me full which is great for the price and considering a lot of other take away venues leave me still peckish not long after eating. The burgers are also delicious and the chips cooked fresh for your order and come with a dipping sauce and again a can of drink. Another filling choice. I have only recently tried their Iskender and it is to die for! So yum. Their meat is always nice and tender too. This will be something I will be ordering again.
I am not a huge fan of Food Courts but I find Downtown is generally not that busy so it hasn't been a problem when eating here and you always have the option of take out. The staff are friendly and all to happy to accommodate to your tastes. Wait times aren't very long for a fresh, hot and delicious meal.
Would definitely be a great place to try and I like that there are other food options close by for my fussy kids!!
This has become my favourite place to grab a tasty, healthy meal.
I have tried their chicken iskender, which for just under $10 you get a plate filled with fresh salads, tasty rice and a large serving of their delicious chicken. You can top your iskender off with up to three sauces. Mint garlic yoghurt is my favourite. This meal also comes with a can of drink.
When I am not as ravenous and just want a quick bite to eat, I go for their mini chicken on rice for $5.95. This is a small styrofoam container filled with their tasty rice and lots of chicken over the top. Again, you add the sauces you like.
A great place to eat.
After many delightful meals from another kebab place in town, who decided to turn into a restaurant, I decided I needed to find a new home for my kebab cash. After being told about this place in Downtown, I decided to give it a go. Back then, it was called "Canary" and was a tiny place. However, as I soon found out, the size of the shop had nothing to do with the quality of the food, it was dee-lisho!
I took a break from kebabs as my dinner-of-choice for a while, when I moved to the other side of town, however about 2 years ago I moved back, and was right back for my delightful, authentic doner kebab. And sure enough, despite the relocation (of them as well) and rebranding to Kebabs on Broadway, the food was still excellent.
Ever since then, it has been my 'special treat' to myself, lunch at KoB... usually a medium mixed salad, which is a nice combo of lettuce, grated carrot, pickled red cabbage (yum!), cheese (extra cost), hummus, sliced tomato, and a few other things I just can't spell. Add to that a mix of spit-roasted chicken with a totally astounding marinade, spiced lamb-&-beef-mince slices, and topped off with Medium Chilli, Yoghurt-mint-garlic and tartare sauces. -drool- I will often add a can of fizzy, and the whole lot leaves me only $8.00 lighter in the wallet.
Overall, this is one of the best Grab-n-Go Kebab houses in Palmwerston North... well worth a visit if you want a filling meal for under $10.
i am not one for dealing with crowded places so the foodcourt places are not my favourites. i tried a burger from this place the other day and was really impressed. it had plenty of meat and enough salad but not too much. the chips i had with it (as a combo) were perfectly cooked and flavoursome without salt and the nice asian girl behind the counter kindly put mild chili sauce on them instead of plain tomato sauce. i will be going back there on quiet days when i dont have to fight my way to the counter.

It's why we get our Hi-Oleic peanuts all the way from South America. It's why we roast them here in New Zealand. It's why our grindstones are set to the exact millimetre. That's how we ensure a texture that's satisfying to spread and sumptuous to eat; all the ... more...
