The Cat in the Hat is now available for the first time in picture book and CD format -- with CD read by Adrian Edmondson. When Sally and her brother are left alone, they think they're in for a dull day -- until the Cat in the Hat steps in on the mat, bringing with him mayhem and madness! This is the classic book that every child should have the joy of reading and having read to them.

Now Dr. Seuss is a loved author in this house and when my kids got the cat in the hat with CD for Christmas I was so excited as I wouldn't have to read the story 20 times over when I'm meant to be doing something else. The CD has the cat in the hat on it along with the book. Its a nice big hardback cover book which I like.
The words are nice and big for a child to follow along with, and the pictures are very well done like always. When you pop the CD in, it starts reading the story my daughter (5 years) was trying hard to follow the book but it went to fast and didn't tell her to turn the page. Once it was finished it started again but saying you can read along and had a page turning sound, which she liked as she could follow it better.
The only fault I can find on the CD would be that the read along turn page sound story should of been first and then it could just read it without page turning sounds so this wouldn't confuse children that are learning to read and really want to read with the CD. While I was meant to be doing housework I found myself reading along with the CD without the book. The CD offered lots of different types of voices for the characters in the book like the fish. I really did enjoy this and so did my daughter I think she listened to it 4 times before we had to go out and she wanted to take it in the car.
