Greatest toy we have ever been given. My little lady has loved this since she was around 6 months old. She enjoyed watching the balls roll across the floor and pushing them around with her hands. Now at 18 months she enjoy stacking them up, using them as a megaphone or making up the balls and rolling them down the stairs in the hallway.
They are nice and bright so beautifully eye catching for children. They are made of plastic so withstand the toughest toddler throw. Not only are they great for children our cat and dog also seem to enjoy having a sneaky wee play with them when the toddler has a nap. Because they are made of plastic they are easy to clean when covered in sticky baby or toddler hands.
They stack up nice and high and don't need much force to get them to stack nicely on each other, so even the younger babies can stack them easily without much help. I find these to be a perfect toy to pop into the nappy bag or in the car when popping out somewhere as they can be used so many different ways. You can easily use them as shakers by adding in a toy or small ball/block into the inside of them when making them into balls.
The great thing about them being round and made of plastic it means they are nice and safe for little hands and mouths. Nothing sharp poking out and definitely nothing nasty that they can catch their hands on. Only downside to making these into balls is that they make fun obstacles for parents!
My daughter was given this set for her first birthday back in 2008. This is a really cool toy. So simple, and yet so versatile. I love the fact that each half can clip into another side to make a ball. You can make it up so the yellow chime ball is in the middle of a plastic "onion". You can peel away the layers and remove the ball. Or you can make a stack of cups upwards with the ball on top. Each half will clip into one of two different sizes of the cups too, so kids can explore different fits.
The colours are vibrant, and allow you to talk about colours and shades. Each piece has a number on it as well, so you can introduce your child to counting and the shape of the numbers. The jingle ball is so cute. Its a nice bright yellow and has a friendly face. I played a couple of games where I hide the ball inside a larger ball and then got my daughter to find which ball had the chime. Then I also played a cup game where I hid the jingle ball under one cup and then tried to confuse her as to which one it was.
These stacking cups can be used in the bath too. The texture of the ridges on the cups feel interesting to baby as well. I found that even though my daughter is well past her baby days, she still enjoys playing and experimenting with this set.
Now this is one toy I love so much there are so much learning going on without the child knowing it. As a mother and a under 2 teacher this toy is awesome, just amazing and you would need to buy one to see how awesome it really is. The learning I found they get with this ONE toy is so much, colours, counting, stacking, balancing, sizing, pulling apart and putting together, there is prob a lot more learning going on at the same time as everything I mentioned above.
Now it also have a ball with a bell inside which makes it more fun to play with, you can hide this all under the cups from baby, you can pop the ball on top of a tower that is made and baby can knock it down for you to pick it up, soon they will learn to do it themselves. You can match the colours to make 5 balls or match the colours over each other to make one big ball with the bell ball inside. Balance the cups on each other different ways, stacking on top of inside.
You can get lots of fun and hours of play out of this one toy, my kids are 5 and 3 and still play with it, why? because its awesome, I have had this toy for 4.5 years now. Its made of strong plastic, and still as good as I brought it. If your looking for something fun, educational and great amount of learning in one toy look no further and for a small price this is a great buy. Its easy to store away into a box, you can put it together to store it, which takes up less space.
