Such a wickedly beautiful smell that is ultra relaxing and sensual to the senses. I have used a base of four different natural oils, this combination gives you the glide you need that will last you the whole massage without leaving you so greased up you need to towel down when finished!
Shake before use each time.
Ingredients: Apricot Kernel Oil, Unrefined Wheatgerm Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Oil, Vanilla - Ylang Ylang - Lavender and Patchouli Essential Oils
Top Tip 1# Use this oil as a bath oil! A cap full with be enough for 1 bath. Ultra moisturising.
Top Tip 2# You can also use this oil instead of your body moisturiser! great for sensitive dry skin.
Product reviews...
This massage oil has quiet a dominating strong smell, the Patchouli comes through quiet heavy. Hayley Benseman's products are 100% natural and made in New Zealand which is fantastic. Too many products contain nasty's which you do not want to put on your skin! I prefer to support New Zealand and try to whenever possible.
I received a tester sized bottle to try out. I used this as a massage oil on my partner and he really liked the smell of this, which was interesting as I found it overpower full. I couldn't smell the vanilla in it which I would have liked to. The oil its self is fantastic, you only need a small amount to massage in for a decent length massage. As with the Essence oil, this one did not leave any oily reside and therefore did not stain my sheets - which is fantastic (and un-like others that I have used and been super annoyed at ruining my sheets!)
I used this oil as an essential oil (added a few drops to some water) in an oil burner with a candle underneath and it worked really well, left the room smelling like a beauty salon! I have added a few drops to our shower gel for extra moister and smell which seems to have worked well. The smell isn't as powerful in the small amount I added, but you can smell it still and leaves you with a light scent which is nice. I decided not to use this one in the bath due it the intensity of its smell but I'm sure that it would be good in there as well.
Overall I would like to see this in a more user-friendly package as the oil bottle isn't ideal, I would like to be able to control the flow/drops that come out a bit better if I was to buy a full sized bottle. My preference is the Essence flavour, purely on the smell but they are both high quality massage oils that have a range of uses!
When I was first given the Hayley Bensenman's massage oils I took a sniff of them both. The divinity oil smelt to me like cough mixture. I gave the two oils to my husband to choose from for his massage and he chose the essence massage oil because he didn't like the smell of the divinity one.
When my girls (now 3 and 4.5) were babies I would often give them massages after their baths. Since I had massage oils to review I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.I haven't given them one for so long that I had to explain to them what I was doing. Both of them had great difficulty going to sleep the previous night so as a result were over-tired today. After each had their shower I gave them a shoulder and back massage.
The smell that had repelled me when it was in the bottle was actually quite pleasant when on the skin. My youngest who had been bouncing around being very uncooperative moments earlier was soon curled up on my lap snuggled into me. Like the essence oil it doesn't leave you feeling greasy. The girls were able to put their pyjamas on straight after without it clinging or marking.
The real bonus was that both girls settled into bed quickly and were asleep much earlier than the previously night. Giving my girls a massage was also a great bonding. The oil goes a long way especially on small backs so they will be receiving many more massages from me and hopefully they will return the favour one day.
After smelling the divinity hand cream I was so eager to smell the divinity massage oil. I opened the bottle and the smell hit me straight away and it smelt divine :). I held the bottle to my partners nose and he too thought it smelt great. Of the two massage oils I prefer the smell of this one much more it seems to have a much more intense scent and I found it to be quite a warm relaxing smell.
The first thing I did with it was rub some all over my body in the shower. I read that you could use it in the bath but they are a rare luxury in my house in an attempt to save on the power bill so the shower it was. With the heat of the water when I was putting the oil on the whole bathroom smelt great. After hopping out and drying off my skin felt very soft and not at all greasy just moisturised. I applied the natural deodarant too so ended up smelling really good.
The scent of the oil really stayed on my skin even hours later I could still smell the oil so it was sort of doubling as a perfume! Tonight I got my partner to massage some into my shoulders so have got an extra boost of the beautiful smell and very relaxed feeling shoulder muscles. My partner liked that it didn't leave his hands greasy or oily afterwards. I also liked it that his hands could move along my shoulders easily as sometimes he can rub too hard when the skin is too dry but this provided enough moisture to keep his hands moving over the skin freely and softly.
