Since I have been enjoying the Puhoi Valley yoghurts so much, I decided to go wild and get the Luscious Nectarine flavour. Now, I do have a bit of a thing about peaches and nectarines. Basically some fake flavours of peach and nectarine taste like lip balm to me, so I'm always a bit wary of these flavours.
With the Nectarine flavour, I opened the lid and was hit by the colour of the fruit sauce first. It was the right shade for nectarine. It looked just that perfect soft orange colour. I noticed on the label that they show an apricot and actually there is apricot in the sauce itself. This is not all that evident. But I would say the apricot rounds the flavour of the nectarine out nicely. It allows the sauce to have that tart bite that nectarines have but peaches don't tend to have,
The Puhoi Valley yoghurt did not fail to make me swoon. It was it's normal creamy dreamy self. Deliciously soft with that sour kick that gives it an almost cheesecake quality. Its so good. The sauce worked well with and without the yoghurt and I was impressed because I really felt this would not be a flavour for me. My toddler absolutely loved this flavour too. I shared a bowlful with her and I didn't get much of a look in with the spoon. There were tears when it was all gone.
