Mini Gingerbread Men product reviews

Little Bellies Mini Gingerbread Men are just like traditional gingerbread men, only for little bellies. They are so adorable, you won't know where to begin eating them.

Made with the goodness of wholegrains and sweetened only with grape juice, there are no added preservatives and no artificial colours or flavours. Our mini gingerbread men are the perfect bite size treat.

Like many other parents I like to provide healthy snacks for my toddler. Before purchasing a product I have a good read of the packaging.

My mum brought some of these as a snack for my toddler when we recently stayed at her house on holiday. My toddler was drawn to the box, as the little people on the packaging seemed very interesting to her. The packaging was easy to open however nothing is individually wrapped so you have to make sure you put them in a container for later or some how try and reseal this packaging so they don't go stale. If you were to pack this for preschool lunches or snacks when you go out you would need to wrap in plastic or put in a container.

I found the novelty of the biscuit wore off, she had one bite and then put it down and wouldn't try it again. I tasted the biscuit too and it was quite bland compared to other snacks on the market. It didn't really taste like a gingerbread man.

They are actually quite pricey in my opinion for a snack food all the time, you don't get many in the box. Mine went to waste as my toddler refused to eat them.

I don't think I would buy this product again.

I like to provide healthy snacks for my 1 year old son as he is more of a grazer throughout the day than a sit down and eat three good meals a day kind of kid at the moment. He finds it hard to wait for the main meals so he does snack in between and I often run out of ideas about what to give him that he will enjoy and will still be healthy and provide variety.

I seen these at the supermarket and decided to buy a box, he had had gingernuts before and liked the flavour although found it hard to eat them so I knew he would like the ginger flavour of these. The flavour is really nice just a subtle ginger taste and not overly sweet, they are crispy but soft enough to be chewed easily making them perfect for him. As they are bite sized he can have a small handful for afternoon tea without him ruining his dinner appetite too.

I like the fact that they don't have artificial flavours or colours and are sweetened by grape juice rather than sugar. It is nice to know that the food my children eat aren't full of colourings and the like. My daughter 11 actually got into the box and tried some for herself and she too enjoyed the biscuits.

I don't buy these too often as they are quite expensive the box is about $4 and there isn't really a great deal of biscuits in the box so we buy these as a time to time treat.

I have been walking past these gingerbread men cookies for a few weeks now. The thing that was putting me off was the price of the box. I thought almost $4 for a tiny box of cookies was a bit steep. Given that these are wholegrain as well, it was a risky thing to buy. My eldest is very fussy. However, curiosity got the better of me last night and I came home with a box.

So for lunch today I sent my eldest and my youngest with a small handful of these cookies in their lunchboxes. The eldest came home with almost all of them still in her box. She had not been impressed. I did wonder if maybe I had iced them or encouraged her to ice them with me, they might have been more acceptable. I could also dip them in chocolate, though that would undo anything healthy about them!

The youngest on the other hand, is a huge fan. She ate all of the ones she was given for lunch and then when we got home, she finished her sister's ones as well. My daughter can easily hold these, and practices using her tooth to crunch the biscuit as well. I did try a cookie myself and the taste is fairly bland. You can taste the grape more than the ginger and the wholegrain texture of the flour is there but not too bad.

What I like about these is they are actually adorable! With their little smiling faces and three buttons down their bodies. They could easily be decorated with writing icing, which I plan to do in the weekend. They could be used to decorate a 1st birthday cake, or as cupcake toppers. You also get a lot in the box. They are small biscuits, but I would say there were at least 25 in the box. It will last us a long time compared to other boxes similar size which have 6 - 8 servings only.
