Another great board book for young children that matches two other books that I have bought previously, and this book is another great example of a classic rhyme/song based around the wheels on the bus....and the bus within this book is based on a classic double decker bus which is on the front cover and this was what caught my eye while I was at the bookshop. Another selling point was I already had the other two books and they have been treasured resources that I use all the time so I was very excited to have this book to add to my collection.
Teddy bears feature in this book also and again they are based on classic old fashioned teddy bears that are dressed in different outfits to match the characters that they are playing. The pictures are photographs I think more than illustrations and the photos are bright and very clear, and this is what makes the book visually appealing. The thick board pages are super sturdy and with a glossy finish they are easily wiped clean so the book is kept looking clean.
The book has a push button musical option that plays the tune of the wheels on the bus. I find the tune to be too fast to sing along too comfortably but it gives the book a great extra something that keeps the young children wanting to push the button over and over as they sing along to the tune. However there is no way for the battery to be changed on the musical button, so I am guessing that when the button doesn't work anymore that will be the end of the musical option....but the pictures within the book are enough to keep the reader still engaged as I think they are fantastic!
I hope to find more books in this series if there are more as I think this book is great, it is such a great book to use with young children and it has been tested by many a young child and has stood the test of time and is still going strong.
