The Shark in the Dark product reviews

It's chaos in the ocean!!

The shark in the dark is heading this way...

Will the flustered fish become saltwater snacks, or can they come up with a plan to teach that great greedy shark a lesson he'll never forget?

The young children that I work with love sharks so this book is the perfect thing to keep them interested and engaged during mat times. This book is about a hungry and greedy shark that is chasing all the fish until the fish all work together to get back at the shark for being a meanie.

The front cover of the book is very eye catching and draws the reader into the book because the shark is pictured looking through a broken portal window and the fish are swimming away with worried/scared looks on their faces. The pages inside the page are just as eye-catching ~ The pages have a darker background like it would look underwater but the illustrations are still clear and can be seen easily like they are almost jumping off the page.

I am not a fan of the font they used, but it is easy to read and I like the extra large font used when the exciting parts come along so the reader knows to use a different voice to emphasise the action happening within the book. I also like how the sentences rhyme and have a nice flow when reading the words, it makes for a fun read.

I can't help but fall in love with the graphic illustrations in this book, the shark is just so cute and when he grins at the fish his cute little face brings a smile to my face....so not what sharks are like in real life but nonetheless he is super cute. The expressions on each of the fish and sea animals faces as well are worthy of a smile because they are just so well drawn you can see the fear on their little fishy faces.

I bit expensive in my opinion but I can't pass up a good book and I tell myself that books are great investments so the money is well spent. Plus this book is one that is read over and over again so really it is worth the money but it would be a bonus if it was a little bit cheaper.
