Tub was started in 2011 after eight months of intense research & development into making the perfect spoonable fudge. The idea came about of making an instant dessert after finding most store-bought ready made mousses weren't anywhere near home-made quality. Fudge is very stable, doesn't have to be stored in a refrigerator and doesn't require intense synthetic preservatives to last for months on a shelf. Also available in gluten-free options.

I was lucky enough to win a years supply of Tub fudge in a competition run by the original company owners, this was the equivalent of 2 tubs per month of their choosing. I received my first two tubs no problems but did not receive anything further for a few months. The company has a facebook page so I posted a couple of messages (July and October 2012) to their page about not receiving the tubs. I didn't get a response but after the company was taken over by new owners I received regularly two tubs a month from about Dec 2012 to March 2013. So I received about 10 tubs all up but only got 6 different flavours. Although I did not seem to receive the whole years supply I was happy in the end with what I did get :)
They selected the cheaper ones to send out which was absolutely fine but it would have been great to get to try a few more of the flavours. It is a great concept and the spoonable fudge lasts a long time but it seems weird and unhygienic to be spooning fudge out of a jar and hoping no-one has double dipped or something, as long as you know who is spooning what then it is okay lol It makes a really nice topping for muffins and cakes if you want to do something different with it. It is also great with ice-cream too.
One of the flavours we got was Peanutta, a chocolate and caramel fudge with peanut bits through it, according to the website this is one of the most popular fudges. This one never got fully eaten as the peanuts are soft and so the texture was all wrong. A second flavour we received was the limited edition DohNut, We found this one very weird and far far too sweet for us, but the mintasy (chocolate fudge and mint) was a hit every single time we got it. A fine blend of mint and chocolate to tantalize anyones taste buds. This is a wonderful creamy, full of flavour, smooth fudge that does not have an over bearing mint flavour, like some mint chocolates do. So if your a lover of fine fudge but not a big fan of mint, but like a hint of mint, then this will please you for sure.
My lucky win aside, I decided to purchase some one day (when still owned by the original owners) when I hadnt received any for a while, but I found the pricing quite high and was also unhappy paying $10 courier for a tub just to have it arrive in a small $5 courier bag. I felt a bit ripped off about that :( But I do understand that companies need to cover their costs. I puchased Chocolate - Chocolate has got to be Heaven in a Tub and definitely my favorite fudge in a Tub. OMG this stuff is gooooodddd!!! It is a wonderful chocolate taste, creamy, smooth and simply delicious. A small tub is not at all enough.
The website is easy to navigate and there are lots of flavours to choose from and they even claim to have gluten free but unsure how GL free they actually are. The company was sold and new owners took over around October 2012 and the company moved to Auckland. Since new ownership, they are looking at a change in pricing and in courier costs. I no longer receive free fudge, but I got a lovely letter last week thanking me for being a part of the fudge family and offering a discount with my next purchase, which I thought was a lovely gesture and I will make use of my discount sometime soon :)
