Product reviews...
I have a lot of Sistema Klipit containers in my house as they are so convenient, easy to use and effective. There are so many shapes and sizes, you can find a Sistema Klipit for every use you can imagine! Plus, they are so much cheaper than the traditional Tupperware. So cheap infact that it doesn't even matter if they are less durable, because it won't break the bank to buy a new one. The Warehouse frequently has sales where the Sistema Klipit range is half price or less.
I find the round containers useful for storing rice and cous cous, as the rounded edge makes it easier to pour the contents out into a bowl or pot for cooking, as opposed to a square shapes container. The seal on these containers is also strong enough to keep things airtight and fresh, without risk of them going bad from oxygen exposure.
This round container with the bonus strainer is what I use for pickles or beetroot (lately it has been beetroot with Summer salads and BBQs being on the menu often).
They are so easy to use and reduce mess as you just hold onto the handle and lift the strainer out, rather than having to dip your fingers in or try to get a piece out with a fork (because beetroot often falls off the fork and splashes it;s juice everywhere, staining clothes, table cloths and any clothing item within a 5 metre radius!!) With the strainer you can store the beetroot and pickles in their own juice, keeping them fresh and juicy without all of the mess.
This would also be a great container for tinned fruit like pineapple rings and peaches, especially if you only want the fruit and you don't really like the syrup.
My only complaint with this container is that although it has a pretty god seal on the lid, it is not water tight like my tupperware containers. If this container is full of lovely purple beetroot and it falls over in your fridge, you will have a massacre as it will leak out all over the shelves and stain the whiteware (it will stain, I know from experience!)
Considering value for money, ease of use, and convenience, I recommend this container to others and the rest of the Klipit range. The containers last a long time and last well in the dishwasher, the fridge or the freezer. I don't recommend using them in the microwave though, as the plastic can go a bit funny. There are so many uses, especially for the strainer. The possibilities are endless!
Ok so hands up who's a 'Sistema Klip It' addict, cause I am! I have a huge amount of this brand of containers and am always looking for more. This product is no exception to their awesome range! A tight seal meaning it is completely leak proof, even if it did fall over or even if you hold it upside down full of liquid (I've tried!) The clips are easy to un-do but hard enough that if your trying to keep little fingers out it would definitely hold them up for awhile.
The bonus strainer that comes with this container is one of the greatest inventions ever - especially if you are a beetroot, gherkin or pickled onion fan (and no doubt there's plenty of other uses out there too!). Simply open your can/container of food and tip into this container...When you are ready to eat some, pull the strainer up by the little handles and expose your food out of its liquid so you can get your food out. How awesome, no more standing there waiting for beetroot juice to drip off one piece at a time. With this product the food is already draining off the liquid the minute you raise the basket. Using this product means your food is constantly stored covered in its own juices the way it should be, in essence 'preserving' it. We find our food lasts ages longer in this container in the fridge than it would in a bowl or if you drained the liquid off.
Completely dishwasher proof makes for easy cleaning up if your lucky enough to have a dishwasher. And another great fact is that all of these Klip It containers stack on top of each other perfectly - ensuring tidy storage in your fridge or cupboard. These containers with strainers also come in two handy sizes depending on your family needs/wants. Totally a product I recommend!
This container is probably the most used container of all within my household...
I am a huge fan of beetroot but the worst part is when all the beetroot is nearly gone and I am fishing around in the bottom of the bowl to find the lost few pieces of beetroot......BUT now I no longer have to do this because of Klip-It and their container that comes with a bonus strainer....I empty the can of beetroot into the container, juice and all and presto when I want access to my beetroot I grab the handle and raise up the strainer, all the beetroot juice stays in the container and the beetroot is visible within the basket...fantastic!!
Not only is the container good for beetroot it is great for any sort of food that needs to be kept in a liquid to keep it fresh such as pickled onions, or gherkins which is another favourite of mine and these containers make life a heck of a lot easier; and what's better is they stack on top of each each once they are in the fridge where the bottom of the container sits into the impression of the lid so not to slide off once stacked so I am assured the containers won't tumble over once inside the fridge....not that I would have to worry if they did fall over anyway because they are leak-proof thanks to the Klip-It system.
The container is dishwasher proof so once all the contents has been eaten I can pop it into the dishwasher and fill it up again once it is clean. I have brought several of this containers for my household as well as family members because when they have come to my house they love the container equally as much as I do. I have found that the contents, beetroot or gherkins last a lot longer too when stored within this container and still taste as fresh as the day I opened the can even if that is up to 5 days later.
I bought my first container many years ago and it still works well the clips and the seal are still going strong and this container is used all the time, basically on a weekly basis and may be opened and closed several times a day if the contents is being used for meals.
I couldn't be happier with this product and I highly recommend them.
