Product reviews...
We have one family pet dog, a rather large, rather typycal always starving no matter what we feed here, pure-bred rotti. If she had the opportunity she would eat all her meals, and then eat all our meals and snacks too. So while doing our weekly shopping last week I was looking for a 'treat' for her. I came across the Vita-Pet Morsomes. They were not on special and very competitively priced at just $3.99 a packet. In comparison to most other dog treats I thought that was awesome.
As the package comes with a viewing window in front, I was able to see the chew treats easily and was very surprised by just how many treats there were in this 100 gram bag. Yes the treats are light-weight and very thin but it was still a surprise that thrre WAS so many in the bag, not just a small piddly handful which is generally the case with everything we buy these days.
So I bought the treats, lol, finished my shopping and headed off home. I am one of those people that when there is somethinf new we have bought or got, we do not wait hours to try...we test immediately. So it was obvious that I was home and opening the dogs treats before I had even put the groceries away. Now I can not tell you about the taste or any of that sorry as I don't speak dog lol I can tell you they didn't seem to have much of a smell though. I offered her her treat, which she took happily enough. Two hours later and I see it still sitting on the floor. I offer it again, she holds it for a tick then pops it down.
I do not know if its because its something new and she doesnt know shes meant to chew it, but the excitement at something yum to chew or play with didn't happen and I felt quite let diwn lol 3more hours and it is still in its whole state. It was however gone by dinner time so maybe she just didn't need anything to chew lol
My two dogs would live off these treats if I allowed them too...they just love them!! Knowing that these treats are made of real chicken 93% real so that is pretty good in my books, and are 97% fat free, are low in fat and high in protein makes them an all round nice tasting snack for dogs.
The resealable zip lock bag allows me to take out a chicken tender and seal the bag up to the keep the remaining chicken tenders fresh. The package also allows me to see the contents of the packet which I appreciated when I first bought the pack. One of my dogs is very fussy so seeing the chicken tenders and somewhat feeling them inside the packet realised they were a quality product and I knew my dog would like these.
These are on my shopping list each week and most of the time are on special so I can't complain at all...there is another brand of chicken breast treats but I have found this brand to be a nicer product, they have more flexibility and have a natural colour whereas the other brand seems more plastic/harder and has a fake reddish colour to them.
The feeding guide gives an idea of how much a dog can have on a daily basis but my two get half a treat each because I would literally go broke if they were given they recommended daily allowance...which they do try to get some days!!
If you have a dog and love to offer them treats this is a good one....they will love them and you will love giving it to them knowing it is a healthy option.
