Im not sure where our copy of this book came from! We own the board version of this book and I know there are others in this series now. But I started reading it to my daughter from birth. She adores it, especially at the end as she likes to point out the moon. I can't believe I have never come across this book in its history of publication until I found it in my own home somehow!
A quirky little story about the love between two people and how far that love will and can go. This book also covers so many different aspects such as feelings, questioning and testing one's self to how far they can reach and to what limits they can go to or go beyond in life,.. Little Nutbrown Hare often feels a little let down being so small compared to Big Nutbrown Hare who is much bigger than he is.
It also makes a lovely bed time story for the young, I find it very important to tell your children how much you love them each day and this book helps in doing so. "I Love You to the Moon and Back" which so many of us do. A timeless classic that you don't get tired of reading over and over again. The pictures are also beautifully drawn and team up so perfectly with the story. Highly recommend to have this book in your children's collection of books.
"I love you to the moon and back" This has to be one of the most quoted words out of a children's book and also one of my favourite quotes ever. At nearly 20 years old Guess how much I love you remains one of the best selling books ever.
Little nut brown hare and big nut brown hare are the stars of this story as they try and find the words to explain just how much they love each other. Both the words and the illustrations are just delightful showing the love between a dad and his son. While most children's books have bright overwhelming pictures in them Guess how much I love you have calming pastel water colour pictures. They are really appealing to younger children.
Since first discovering this book it's become a favourite for me to buy for new arrivals in my life, I think it's one book everyone needs to own. Since it was first released Guess How much I love you is now available in many different forms, Paperback, hard cover, board book, book and dvd, book and toy and cloth books. I find it's one of those books that as soon as you start reading it all the children around are drawn in and come to listen. It's one book I will never get sick of reading.
Guess how much I love you is a beautiful book that will delight children and parents everywhere. And we are lucky enough to own a copy. It is a favorite book of both myself and my little girl. I love you to the moon and back is a phrase I often use with all three of my children, and for parents who often struggle to tell their children how much they love them, this book presents that opportunity.
It is beautifully written, very sweet, touching, and heart felt. The great thing about this book is that both characters (Hares) are males. There are so very many books written about mothers love for their children, yet few about daddy's, so it is delightful to see one with a dad sharing the love he has for his offspring. And even my daughter was impressed by this.
The artwork in the book is done in pen an water color and is absolutely beautiful. I like the cute drawings, and think they add sweetness to the story. The animals are amazingly drawn, and not all cartoon like, which is often the case. I also like the expressions shown on the faces of the hares, just beautiful. A super wonderful story that is a must have for any home library.
"I love you right up to the moon - and back" has become a phrase that is used in many households to show how much you love your child. I know that my 4 year old and I often use the phrase with each other as he goes off to sleep.
Guess How Much I Love You is one of those books that most children growing up at the moment will know and love. I can't count how many times I have read it to my two children. We have the hard covered board book and it has been very much loved. There are bends and bite marks all over the place! The message in this book is one of love between a parent and a children. The text has an element of repetition and rhythm as it is read. The Nutbrown Hares are cute animals that complement the text beautifully. It shows the fun between a child and a parent when trying to outdo each other in good humour. The illustrations are detailed drawings but simple in colour, with green and brown being the main colours throughout the book. These colours give a calm and natural feel to each page as it is read to a child.
This is a book that I know I will be reading many, many more times as my children grow up. It will take its place in the box of special treasures from my children's childhood once they outgrow it. It will not be one of the books that we hand on for others to enjoy. A real treasure for children to love and enjoy.
This is one of those heart warming picture books that calls for big snuggles on the couch while you read the story. I bought this book when my daughter was younger and we would have big cuddles while we read it and then tell each other how much we loved each other such as more than all the stars.
I have since brought this book back out for Cai and he loves it just as much as is sister did. We sit and read the book and he likes to blow me a kiss to show me how much he loves me. Casidy now 11 will still come and sit with us and listen to the story, I think she is enjoying seeing all her old books come out of the wood work and this used to be one of her favorites.
The illustrations in this book are so cute and Casidy has been using the book to draw her own pictures of rabbits as they are so simply drawn that they are easy to copy. I would quite happily recommend this book to new parents as a special book to share with your children at bed time.
I had heard about this wonderful book long before I became a mother. When I was pregnant it was one of the first things I bought. When my children were babies and I was the one that got to select which book I read them each night this was the one I chose several times a week. Now they are older we and are choosing the bedtime stories this has been cast aside in favour of the latest books.
Last week we were given Guess How Much I Love You on DVD. This reminded me of the book we had hiding somewhere. I hunted through the hundreds of kids books we have and found it. My children's eye's lit up when they saw it. It reminded me of when they would snuggle up on my lap and listen to me read it to them. Now at 3 and 4.5 the simple line drawings in pale colours don't have as much appeal to them but they both love to snuggle up to me and listen to the story of Big and Little Nutbrown Hare's love for each other.
This is a great book to give as a baby shower or first birthday present. It is also available as a paperback, boardbook, plates, cutlery, baby record book and more. The best thing about this book is that it gives parents another chance to tell their darlings how much the love them and then one day you get that magical moment when your toddler tells you that they love you.

This is the story of Hare, who struggles with an un-named mental malady self-described as 'noise'.
Noise could be runaway thoughts, voices in Hare's head, or loud feelings and general anxiety. Hare goes on a journey to try and find a solution.
Just when Hare thinks there's no hope a friend, Ruru, flies calmly down and gives a suggestion.
