Well, I have to admit, this cookbook isn't the best one I've seen, but it most certainly isn't the worst. I think that this product is more suitable for kids up to 10 years of age, because it means they can get a hands-on cooking experience in almost all avenues with their parents, but it means they get to start with easy-to-medium level recipes. Also, the names were a bit weird, some sounded a tad bit silly like "wookie cookies" and "sandtrooper sandies", so this is another thing that places this cookbook in the "kiddies" category.

The cookie cutters looked cool, they at least can be used for other cookie recipes, and make a fun treat for kids to take to school or on a family trip. The recipes were okay, they weren't dead easy ones, but they weren't too tricky either. I only managed to get 1 recipe done in time to write this review up, and that was the "wookie cookies" recipe, and I don't know if it was just how I made them, or if it was the recipe, but the cookies weren't all that good.

There were plenty of other recipes that sounded pretty delicious, and when I have the time and ingredients I should really give them a go. The price was acceptable, if it was only for the book then it would be a bit O.T.T (over the top), but since the product includes the cookie cutters the price fits nicely. All in all, I think that this product is cute, good, and a packet of family fun for anyone who buys it.

We were picked to review this cookbook set which i knew would delight my Star Wars mad budding chef :) so the day it arrived i couldnt wait to give him the set when he got home even though i knew he would want to get cooking straight away lol. When i unpacked and inspected my box of goodies my first impressions of this set were good ones. The book comes packaged in a nice little box with the three cutters displayed down the side, so everything you are getting is right there in view. A great box set for a gift too which i liked.

Since receiving this however we have only had the opportunity to make vader, R2D2 and yoda omelettes using the recipe in the book and they turned out great. Definitely spray the insides of the cutters with cooking oil when using though. hehe We also used the cutters for vanilla biscuits for my son to take on school camp which he was very excited about. We are looking forward to trying out more of the recipes but it is the end of the year and life has been so hectic lately. We have however had the chance to read through the whole book and i love how it is set out. The photos are awesome: Star Wars figures amongst baking to really appeal to younger cooks and its great the recipes have variations and freezing/storing info.

My favorite part of the book in all honesty is the safety/before you start part at the beginning. It is written obviously in a Jedi style but covers all the basics about fire/knife/oven safety etc and that really appealed to me as a parent. My only complaint is that the cutters are slightly flimsy and can easily be bent out of shape unfortunately. All in all this is a fantastic book which I would most definitely recommend and would be more than happy to buy and give as a gift and know it would be happily received too. Definitely two thumbs up from us. Thumbs Up

I love love love this cookery book. Since I received it we have had Yoda, Darth Vader, and R2-D2 shaped everything from French toast and omelettes, to cookies, wontons, and sweetcorn fritters. Most of which were recipes from the cookbook all except for the sweetcorn fritters but I just couldn't resist making them into Star Wars characters too.

The book is fantastic for young star wars fans who are learning to cook for themselves. The introductory pages are great with advice for safety in the kitchen and the tools a Jedi chef would need. I love how simple it is like 'never run in the kitchen' and 'seek the wisdom and experience of the adult cooks. I especially love the guiding comment of clean the kitchen before you start and keep it clean as you go. My daughter definetly needs to read this book and take on that advice!

The cookie cutters are great and have been a big hit with lots of shaped treats being made. Although my son 9 months doesn't know what star wars is he liked the characters and my daughter who is in to all things girly was quite in to it too. I know my 8 and 10 year old nephews would be really in to a book like this and also my 14 year old brother who is just starting to want to help with the cooking.

I made from the book Obi-Wan Tons, Skywalker Sugar Cookies, Let the Fudge Be With You-Chocolate Fudge, Amidala Omelettes, and Tosche Station Toast and my daughter had a go at making her own Hoth Chocolate. The recipes were very simple and easy to follow with clear ingredients list and sequenced instructions so that children can follow them without much assistance from an adult. I like the photos that accompanied each recipe with the stylised Star Wars Characters.

The Hoth Chocolate recipe was easy to follow for my 10 year old. I gave her a easy recipe to try and just supervised while she made it. She read that once you see bubbles appear it was ready so this was a really easy cue for her to follow. My favourite recipe was the fudge it was so good normally when I have made home made fudge it has had a gritty consistency but this was completely smooth.

When I made sweetcorn fritters I tried making them inside the cutters but they stuck, so when I made the omelettes I greased the cutter and this time they didn't stick so I could make the omelettes straight into the cutters and not have to worry about cutting shapes afterwards. Another part of the book I found really great was the final page showing you the icing suggestions which I followed when making the iced sugar cookies.

This is a fantastic book which I considered giving to my brother or one of my nephews but know I am not giving up my copy as I have been enjoying using it myself. I may just have to go out and buy another one to give as a gift as I think it would be a fantastic gift for a young star wars fan.
