Few of these models could be imagined by looking at the flat 'nets' but glue them together step by step and the shapes appear. Once the models are made, there are many ways to decorate them; Paint, felt tip pens, coloured pencils or enamel can all be used, or invent your own decorations.
These models make fine decorations, and they can be hung from threads to make attractive mobiles.

OK, unlike many of the other books like this, these shapes are all blank. No pre-printed artwork, no fancy designs, just the cut and score lines, and some reference markers so you can put them together the right way.
Personally, I love that about them! It means that you can design your own fun and funky artwork. Perhaps cut your favourite cartoon characters out of a book, or print some cool designs off the net, anything you can dream up really.
The models are, on the whole, fairly basic which makes them a great introduction to building geometric solids from flat 'nets' of heavy paper or card. There are a few challenging models, once you feel up to speed, so get stuck in and enjoy.
Overall, I would say this is a wonderful book, and my only regret is that to make the best use of it, you have to cut it up. If you are very skilled, you could copy the designs onto heavy paper and use them instead, but that might be more hassle than it's worth for most people.

Based on real events and people from our colonial past, this impeccably-researched and dramatic adult fiction follows the lives of the main characters as they become entwined together in an intense story of adventure, love and loss. This novel explores not only an important chapter in New Zealand's history, but also the deep and sanguine forces that drove the early settlers and pioneers to leave safe and familiar Europe to etch new lives for themselves in the far-away, unknown and often-treacherous corners of the world.
