Thank you Thank you Thank you - those 6 magical words can change your life forever! By giving gratitude every day you can receive everything your heart desires.
If you have read The Secret and then The Power you definitely need to read The Magic. Instead of just reading about how to change your life every day you are set a task that you must complete which helps in line with the universe.
Starting off from when you wake you need to record 10 things for which you are grateful they can be hearing the birds chirping outside, smelling freshly cut grass or being thankful your baby slept thru the night whatever your heart feels grateful for you record it is so simple and most mornings I would do over the 10 that I was required to do. My husband and I have always said 3 things that we are grateful for before we go to sleep so this was so easy it just carried it on.
Each day there is a theme and it might be giving thanks before you eat a meal that day or thanking complete strangers for a service they provided and really meaning it by looking in their eyes as you say it.
If you are unable to complete a task for a day because you are sick (happened to me) you just redo the previous 3 days again and your back on track. I have to admit with two small girls doing what was required of me first thing in the morning was difficult and sometimes I could not write my gratitude list until after lunch but because I thought of it continually until I wrote the list I am sure it was ok.
I did finish this book about 3 months ago and keep meaning to re-read but I think if I was to re-read would not do the pages that have no relevance to me. At the end of the book it does tell you what pages you can redo which specify what you are really after whether it be the money, health or relationships.
The big question does it work: I believe it does. We have a term in the house and its 'secreting'. If we are looking for a carpark in town we secret for it, if I want to talk to someone I secret for it I am really good with the small stuff like I can think of a movie for a couple of seconds and within the next fortnight its usually on tv. The big things however elude me but I think its because I think of them all the time instead of just forgetting about them.
One trick I did learn from the Magic is when you wake up you say 'thank you for the amazing news that I am going to receive today" whenever I remember to say that something ALWAYS happens!!! I either win something or someone I have wanted to see pops by or something amazing happens. I love it when I remember that one as I am always wondering what will happen. Also when out driving and its raining I always sprinkle magic dust on the car and think about my husband and sprinkle some on him just makes me feel protected.
If you are a believer in the Secret you really need to read this book.
Well the hype means this book has a lot to live up to and I am not sure that my life is going to become "Magical" from reading this book but as far as self help books goes this is possibly one of the better ones to give a try! If you want to get out of a negative pattern of thinking and being then this is definitely a book read and use.
Firstly this isn't just a book you read. This is a book you "do" - every day for twenty eight days you will have to read a chapter and then do the tasks for that day.
Secondly doing these tasks takes time! Schedule it! This book will only do its magic if you prioritise yourself and take the time to do the tasks.
With three children five and under it didn't take long for me to fall off the journey! I have read the whole book but must confess to not "doing" all that is prescribed. So I can't say if it will work or not if you complete the 28 days.
What I can say is that the purpose of this book is to change your thought patterns which is why you should do the tasks for twenty eight days straight as this should actually cement the positivity (and 'Magic') that you will gain from using this book.
I have found that even just from the days I have done I am looking more for the positives in situations and find myself reframing events in a more positive light. I am keeping the book next to my bed and I will try to finish all the tasks. With all the books I read, my bed side table is sacred space so that actually makes this book a bit of a winner!
So if you want to get out of a rut and feel the need to reframe your pattern of thinking I would say go get this book right now and change your life!
