When I first saw this book and read the blurb on the back, I thought that this was going to be a great book, and luckily this was correct! The book started off with the main character, Dillen, nosing through a map in a temple, and like a few other cool books I've read, I found this whole start-off-into-mischief beginning, and it was that excitement that drove me to read on.

It was good how a few mysteries were put in place at the beginning, it meant that I would have to keep reading if I were to solve them, and along the way I was dragged into a raging storm cloud of action, danger, and magic that made me anxious to get to the point when I could start reading, and then I didn't want to stop!

My favorite character was probably Dillen, he was calm, adventurous, and knew no life other than a life with no father, and instead a grumpy, commanding priest. Dillen's companions, Tajni and Koto, were okay, but did have their faults: Tajni was rather scatter-brained, and a little to excited or fearful of things that he became mildly annoying.

Koto on the other hand, was often rather grumpy and stern, she was a little too serious for my liking, but was still under the "get her out of this story please!!" bar. The book had a vast amount of mystical creatures that are set in a subtle ancient Chinese style, and this is the type of fantasy that gives me great pleasure in reading.

The book has a rather surprising price, i would have thought that this type of book would be a little cheaper, but I guess that is just a sign that the book is of good value, and now that I think about it, I fully agree with this price and will give it a 10/10 score! This is the kind of story that I will read again someday, for it is a fun place that I can immerse myself in whenever I can.

The book came to an end a little too soon so I hope that I can get a copy of the next book for review, but for now, enjoy!
