Eureka! Space Torch. Torch and Projector product reviews

Bring space into your bedroom with this fantastic projector torch. Simply shine the torch around your room and turn your bedroom into outer space. View NASA images on your walls and ceilings including astronauts, space shuttles, planets and nebulae.

The torch comes with three slide discs with 24 colour NASA photographs. Swap and change the slides easily by pulling back the plastic flap and inserting the chosen disc then rotate the disc round to view the fantastic colour images which project up to one meter wide. Images are easily focused by turning the lens head. This product can be used as a normal torch without the slides in place and is great for keeping on bedside tables to give comfort to children during the night. The torch also includes a key chain so it is great for hanging up and keeping safe. The torch measures 11cm long and approximately 3.5cm in diameter at the widest point.

3x AA Batteries included.

I have to say, this space torch was a very cool toy to play with, and since I love astronomy, this is the ultimate tool for getting a good idea on what the things in the photos look like. The quality of the photos was outstanding, and the fact that they are real photos makes them seem even cooler! I liked the fact that this projector could also be used as a torch, And since I get to read a book for an hour before going to sleep, this would be very useful as a bed-side light for a more enjoyable reading hour! This product does work best in a dark room, but isn't all that bad in a naturally lit room as well.

I was happy to know that the 3 AA batteries for this product were already included, it meant that I only had to remove the strip of plastic to let the circuit complete and then I was able to use this thing. It took me a while to find out how to focus the images, because when I first turned the torch on, I had to push down on the disks to make the images clear. I think that if anything could be added to make this product better, it's some sort of slide-out disk holder, then there wouldn't be the risk of the slides getting lost.

Oh, other thing that I thought was awesome about this product is that it's very small, so you could just put it your pocket and take the torch wherever you go! I think that this toy is a great thing to play with, and it's really cheap too, so get one today!

This torch is extremely easy to use (Miss Three and Miss Four had no problems). You slide in the discs and rotate them by hand. You can adjust the focus by turning the lens of the torch. The clarity of the pictures is fantastic. Far better than I had expected.

Each photo has a description on the back of the packaging. Unfortunately these descriptions aren't on the photo so you will need another torch and the packaging to read the descriptions as you look at each photo until you memorise them.

Miss Three and Miss Four loved this torch and spent hours in the hallway with it before digressing to a game where they slid the discs under the door to the other person shining the torch where the discs would be slid! This game continues to be a favourite.... Thankfully the discs are really robust and they have put up with a lot of "play" and still seem to be fine. The discs are made out of plastic and the photos inset so when the discs are placed flat the photos do not touch the surface. Much more robust than those used in a view finder.

I would have liked a carry case or some way of attaching the discs to the torch when not in use as the discs are very easy to misplace.

This Space Torch is great if your child has any interest in astronomy or space and is a great little distraction if you have a child that needs to play with something at night before sleep.

This is a great stocking filler or little gift suitable for boys and girls alike from about the age of three years up.
