Soprano's Limoncello - Authentic Italian Liqueur - with a smooth, creamy flavour!
Treat your taste buds, soothe your senses and transport yourself to the sun-drenched shores of Southern Italy. Limoncello is a unique Italian liqueur with a history as rich as the zesty nectar itself.
Some say limoncello has been enjoyed since Roman times. Others believe the recipe was born inside a monastic convent. Still others claim Italian wives prepared it in the 1900s as a digestif for their husbands.

WOW, these guys can do no wrong!
The lovely, creamy texture of this Limoncello creme makes it far too easy to drink :) As soon as you break the wonderful, blue wax seal of the bottle, your are greeted with a divine smell of lemons, crisp and clear! It sat nicely in my mouth and I savoured every moment.
I made a smoothie with vanilla ice cream, crushed ice and of course the Limoncello creme ... to die for! I'm a huge fan!
The price is right, the taste is right, its all right! You need to try for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
This was like supping on a Baileys, but obviously with a lemon flavour. This was definitely our favourite compared to the plain limoncello. Maybe it's just because the creamy texture made it more drinkable. We quite easily sat down and sipped away at a small glass of this tasty Soprano number.
It was delicious from the freezer, and even the watered-down version (room temperature with a slowly melting block of ice in it) was still good.
We tried it with some Soda with Lemon mixer and it was surprisingly tasty. It didn't curdle (which I'd expected) and tasted divine. It was like a tasty cocktail which very much impressed our friends (they definitely wanted more!). I would have a bottle of this in my freezer for the 'instant cocktails' emergency.
The online prices of $12 for 150ml or $35 for 500ml were pretty reasonable and fairly comparative to other alcohol options. I'm not sure how easily accessible this product is through liquor stores, but online ordering seems simple.
Overall I'd happily choose this Soprano Limoncello Creme product again for serving in a variety of ways.
I ripped open our parcel, knowing it was special, just not how special......
I love the wax blue top on these but did wonder at first glance if i could re-seal it - i was relieved that i could screw the top back on. Needless to say i was one of these people that didn't put it in the freezer just to push the point but would advise it's stored in the fridge or freezer just because the bottles get a little sticky. With summer just around the corner, you really don't want ants in this fantastic product.
I found this to be more of a dessert/baking type product and loved adding about 1-2 tablespoons to a banana cake and making a butter icing with it. We also made a homemade chocolate mousse and added just a little bit to it. I found this to be the more creamy of the two but definitely think every kitchen needs the pair.
Lemon butter icing is simple to make, put in icing sugar, add enough melted butter to make a nice runny mix, add Soprano Limoncello Creme to taste and mix.... You can add a little water from this point or icing sugar but this is great on hot baking and really lets the smell through.
As for the mousse, beat cream until thick and slightly hard, melt chocolate and beat in an egg yolk when it has cooled, mix together and refrigerate. I put sponge in the bottom of my glass, poured over my coffee or chocolate liquid then added about 1 Tablespoon Soprano Limoncello Creme to the mousse, mixed again then put on my sponge and returned to the fridge until i was ready to decorate and serve..... Sadly, they didn't last long enough to get photos :(
When our Soprano Limoncello Creme arrived I put it in the fridge to chill it down for an after dinner treat. The colour of the liquid was a beautiful buttery cream. The smell was fainter than the original Limoncello, but still a delicious lemony teaser.
We had a shot of this each, over ice. What I loved about the liquid itself was its gorgeous thick and creamy consistency. It looked really indulgent, luxurious. And that translated to the taste as well. I loved the way it clung to my tongue as I rolled it around in my mouth; allowing me to experience the full range of flavours within.
The cream tastes like lemon curd, but with that same inner fire that the original Limoncello has. This would be brilliant as a float over another flavoured schnapps. Or by itself with fresh cream over the top.
Another thing we tried was a nip of the Limoncello Creme in a glass of milk with ice, like a naughty milkshake. This was so delicious and I could have easily drunk another glass of it.
The measure of a good bottle of something, is when the last drop leave the bottle you feel a little sad about it. That's definitely the feeling I had. This was just so yum. I'm a real fan of lemon curd and creme liqueurs and this was a real treat.
