Summer is over and it's time to go back to school, but Tortoise is worried. What if the others don't like him? What if the school dinners aren't very nice?
This book for young readers tells about being brave, showing children that everyone gets scared, even grown-ups.

This little, and I do mean little, story has a wonderful surprise ending that really tickled me... as it gives the kids an interesting perspective they probably wouldn't have normally. Knowing some people who face the exact same dilemma when school restarts each year, I can say the problem faced by Tortoise is all too real, and accurate. Not in all cases, of course, but in enough to make this far from fantasy.
Overall, with some very quirky artwork that fits the age bracket of the target audience, and a wonderful, if brief, story that has a great moral hidden in it, this is a great option to consider if you are looking to buy something for the little ones to read, though I feel it could be made a little more mature and target the 6-8 year old market better.
My kids loved this one, its great as the children can relate to it well.
The thing that really stood out for me about this book is the illustrations by Merel Eyckerman. The characters are super cute and the book is in nice tones of pastel. The story is nice and simple, good for a bedtime story, also great for kids that are starting school or kindergarten.
The story tells the tale of a tortoise who is worried about going back to school in case he doesn't make friends or he doesn't enjoy himself. The story teaches young ones about being brave and also has an awesome unexpected twist at the end!
