The sixth stirring instalment of the urban fantasy-thriller series starring Rachel Morgan. A pacey and addictive novel of sexy bounty-hunting witches, cunning demons and vicious vampires.
Having barely escaped being skewered by the criminal vampire overlord of Cinncinati, Rachel now has even bigger problems to contend with. The demon Algaliarept, although banished back into the everafter, has infected others of his kind with his interest in a witch who can channel demon magic.
Rachel soon finds herself with not one but three hellions on her tail; and one of them is even crazier and more dangerous than all the fairy assassins, weres and vampires on the planet.
Published as 'The Outlaw Demon Wails' in the US.

Sixth title in the "Rachel Morgan" series, this instalment brings a few home truths to light, and then a few more... some that nobody could see coming. Rachel is faced with problems none of us could imagine... and a few that would give most of us nightmares, even when awake. On top of that, her love-life isn't exactly smooth-sailing either - which should be considered par for the course when you are dating a living vampire.
Having the rug pulled out from under her world is bad enough for Rachel Morgan, but having to go to the one place you don't want to go, to help someone who you don't want to help, in order to face down the one creature you really want to avoid... it's insanity squared... and that's before she even gets a decent meal into her... talk about having a rough 'morning'.
Overall, Kim Harrison has put forth another wonderful tale, and I am starting to see the story bending to where I found it in Book 8 - Black Magic Sanction. Even knowing the end of the story (and hating the fact that I am now so totally hooked and there's no more. ) I still found this story to be a rollercoaster of tension, action and drama. It's not often I will encounter a series part-way through and be determined to read it all... but I am VERY glad it happened this time!
