My Dream : Listen to the Children product reviews

A child. A dream. 191 countries in 167 days!

When John Bougen set out on the All Nations Quest he had a dream of his own: with the help of Save the Children he would talk to children, and ask them about their special hopes and dreams.

This moving and inspirational book is a response from the children of the world when asked the question, "If one of your dreams could come true, what would it be?"

I liked the concept of this book instantly the first time I saw it, and so did my eight year old! On one level it's very pleasing to see the many different faces of children of the world and read of their dreams. (It was also a mini-geography lesson for my child). On another level, it's a reminder of how different children's lives can be, so it's a little sad too, but in a way that makes you appreciate how good your own life is, and appreciate these children, who often have such sweet, simple dreams.

I like how they included background detail on some of the children. The design of the book was also very well done.

Though of very high quality manufacture, and the materials used are top-notch and really DO justify the price, this book is a little pricey for casual reading. This is a book bought by people who want insight... into other people's dreams, into what sort of images are all around us just begging to be seen, into the silver lining AND the dark clouds.

A pictorial moment of 191 children's lives, scattered across this spinning ball of rock in space. It shows us that we are all human, we all have dreams and wishes.

A great book to keep around when you need reminding of the things that really matter in life, to help you explain those moments when you connect to the rest of our kind, even if just for a moment. When your mind climbs out of it's bonebox and says "Howdee stranger, I'm just another part of you, of them, of us."

Overall, inspirational. What else needs to be said?

Product reviews for listing 2747: Cuzzie and Bro - The Story of Twin Piglets -  Author: Marion Day

Product image for Cuzzie and Bro - The Story of Twin PigletsCuzzie and Bro is the adventure story of twin piglets born in a litter of ten on a farm bordering To Urewera National Park. The tiny twins are trampled by their siblings in the fight for food, and Mrs Tama - the farmer's wife - is forced to take the undersized and weak piglets into her care and hand-rear them.

Life on the farm with their barnyard friends and playful school children is idyllic for the twins. That is until tragedy strikes and everything changes.
