A very cute set of collectable character figurines, these will bring your 'Iron Man' collection up to date with the latest movie, and beyond.

In all, there are 6 figurines, each with their own special characteristics, but they also have interchangable clip-on weapons and a set of three mix'n'match Armour Cards. These took me a bit to really get the hang of, as there is no official information about them on the Hasbro or affiliated websites. There is a 'base' card, which has the torso on it. Over that sits a transparent card that carries the legs and feet, topped by a third that carries the head and arms. Mix'n'match them between armour sets to make unique combinations of Iron Man armour.

You'll notice that down the side are letters and numbers. When you have a set of three in place, these will form a unique 9-character code for that combined armour. At this stage, I have no idea at all what you can do with these codes, but I assume at some stage you'll be able to enter them into a website or something and download something. Who knows. If anyone ever finds out, please do let us know. Wink Icon

Overall, though these figures are die-cast, they are plastic. I found the limbs to be a little stiff to move at the start, but repeated 'posing' of the figurine soon loosened them up enough... though I couldn't get the hips to bend, only swivel. I risked turning Tony Stark into Peg-Leg Pete if I tried any harder to get some flex out of them. When lined up on the shelf, these look quite cute and come with a base the figure can clip onto, which also includes a triple-slot for the armour cards to lock into as a backdrop. The kids will love them, and so will Iron Man fans, but hard-out collecta-holics may want to explore die-cast metal versions if they come available, as these don't look quite so hot up close.
