The Magic School Bus - Exploring Space product reviews

Out of This World
When Dorothy Ann, the class amateur astronomer, tells them she's seen an asteroid headed straight toward their school, Ms. Frizzle arranges a field trip into space to save the school from being destroyed. The class discovers all sorts of space junk, including comets and meteors, but can they cause the asteroid to change its orbit?

Get Lost in Space
Arnold's know-it-all cousin Janet drives the whole class crazy when she joins Ms. Frizzle's class on a field trip and gets them lost in outer space! But when the navigational system breaks down, and Ms. Frizzle 'accidently' gets lost in the solar system, Janet may be the only one with enough knowledge to save them!

In this DVD, "Get Lost In Space" was my favourite episode because I'm interested in the solar system, and bits of space junk as well, meaning I liked "Out of this world" too. There was only one part that annoyed me and that was when Arnold's cousin, Janet, started to tease the class and became a big show-off in the first episode.
The DVD was very funny in some parts like in the commentary at the end of episode one when Liz and the producer found out that it wasn't a kid they were talking to but an alien from Pluto, and Liz had a very surprised look on her face. In the second episode there was something cool that happened, it was the school bus turned into a space ship that looked like the one on Star Trek.
Like the other DVD's in the series, this one had some action in it, like when the class tries to destoy an asteroid in episode two. One thing I just want to point out, no matter what you see, it can't happen in that much time, and some things can't happen at all. Buckle up as we take off on two ad ventures that will take you out of this world.

This time around The Magic School Bus journeys into outer space in order to teach us about the solar system and other celestial bodies.

In these two episodes the information about outer space and celestial bodies are extremely well presented, and explained in details that are easily understood and enjoyable to watch.

The thing I love about The Magic School bus is that with the way the information is presented it not only makes it so easy for it to be understood by many different age groups, but it also seems to make iteasy for the kids to remember and recite the information at a later date. Why this is i'm not too sure, but to be honest I don't really worry about it too much, as long as my kids are learning something i'm happy.
