Playdoh - what child (and adult can resist it?!) This playdoh set is no exception - and is well thought out for the little "Master Chefs" in the family. The box is brightly coloured, shows all the pieces you receive and possibly what you can make with it.
At first glance, it looks really great - lots of bits and pieces to keep kids entertained. For the most part it is - however, this is not a solely individual play item for the younger members of the family - needing a little assembly for the pasta maker, as well as help with the slightly kiddy-proof product lids. These things in themselves are not an issue to me - as I tend to set things up, wait till the children as nicely playing, and then engage myself in other activities.
There is plenty of variety in what is provided in the box - and both my girls had great fun experimenting and making all sorts of wacky combinations, shapes and textures with the tools included. The extra little accessories have been used not only with playdoh, but for feeding dollies, unicorns, and many other creatures. Our girls thought the best part was being about the create the pasta right into the plate or bowl, and have since been asking for plates that we can really do that with!
Downsides - whilst it does come apart for storage, it is not tiny, and needs a little bit of shelf space. There are lots of grooves for playdoh to get stuck in, so needs a little attention to cleaning, Neither of these things would stop me purchasing again. Great product, love the creativity and joy it creates!!
When my son received this for his 2nd birthday he was so excited! He loves helping in the kitchen so this was perfect!
Play Doh is for over 3 - and i think that this is true to this product. When my son first got this he found that he could not push the side prongs down as they are quiet hard - nor could he screw the plate on. He is now 3 and can do this with ease. I like the screw idea and the push down of the prongs as it allows the child to have to think about how the toy operates and builds on other skills.
Play Doh is a fantastic and well trusted brand in this house - the Doh always stays fresh and soft (as long as the lids are on!) And this toy is no let down, lots of enjoyment to be had!
My 2 year old daughter saw me walk in with a bright coloured box and knew straight away it was a toy for fun! She wanted me to open it then and there for her.
She was getting really excited as we were putting it together and couldn't wait to see how it all worked, it was easy to put together, which is a good thing for those kids that can't wait to try out a new toy.
Once we got it all together she was ready to start making spaghetti for as all, the lids were bit hard for her little hands to open which is a good thing, but with a little help to open them she was off having loads of fun.
This is a great way for kids to use their imagination and be creative, it's also a good way to feel what different textures and shapes are like.
Overall it's quite fun, it brought back a few memories of when i was young and use to play with play doh in the good old day hahaha and it's still as fun as always but with different items to use and more of a colour range of play doh to choose from.
I tried this out on my almost 3 year old son. As with the other Play-Doh product we tried, the nice bright packaging certainly appealed to him and the minute he saw it he was begging for it to be opened. We once again had issues with him being unable to get the lids off the Play-Doh containers but in hindsight that in itself is probably a good thing safety-wise in case the containers of Play-Doh got into even younger childrens' eager hands. The only other minor issue we had with this toy was that he was unable to screw on the "plate" ,which made the spaghetti, to the top of the toy by himself. But other than those two slight issues my son has loved this playset and has really enjoyed making "dinner time" for everyone and being able to "serve" it up with the plates, fork, and spoon accessories included. It's durable, hard wearing, and in nice bright colours. A great toy that really kept my son amused and using his imagination.

Make it pink, or make it blue - now kids can re-create the unforgettable movie moment from Sleeping Beauty when the Fairy Godmothers can't decide which colour to make their beloved princess's dress. With a simple turn of Sleeping Beauty's crown, kids can change the colour of the doll's beautiful ball gown - just like the Fairy Godmothers.
