Product reviews...
Having used previous versions I was expecting some great things from this version... and I am pleased to say I was not disappointed. OK, there were a few let downs, but these things happen when you are doing major overthauls and upgrades like this, and most of the issues I experienced early on were fixed in later minor updates.
For me, the biggest factor was the improved search system. Now users can search by location, street name, but also data stored in the Properties module (which ships as part of the default installation in this version, hoorah!) and by companies as well. By default, the search is now restricted to the area in the viewing panel and you select if you want to search country-wide... a total, and welcome, reversal of defaults from previous versions.
The speed boost of the new engine has also been a seriously impressive upgrade which has allowed faster zooming and rendering. More control over overlays (rendering layers, such as names, roads, land usage maps etc) allows for a greater range of flexibility when it comes to outputting maps for various purposes, and the improved route-solving ties in werll with the updated roadmaps, making for less roundabout trips. There are more improvements on the way, so me sure to pop in to their website and check them out.
Overall, probably the best tool you could want if you have need of routing and travel information, property information and land usage. Perfect for property investors and developers, real estate agents, regular business and commercial travellers, and even for the casual tourist... though for that you might want to check out the online "TUMONZ Live" version available from the main website.
