Firstly, I love the wooden box this comes in, much more sturdy than the usual cardboard ones.
My daughter is just under 3 so just starting to get into the alphabet but really enjoys this puzzle. She is familiar with nearly all the pictures used so that is really helpful.
At this stage we are matching the letter with the picture based on colour and the shape of the puzzle piece as matching letters seems to be a bit beyond her at the moment but it works really well as some pieces are rounded and some are squarer and only one piece fits correctly so she is able to self-monitor her progress.
We have also come up with lots of other games like spelling words and making picture stories with the picture pieces, so you are really getting many games in one and it can be used from about 2 years on to school age.
I really like this puzzle due to its diverse uses, attractive pictures and pieces are reasonably durable so should last. Would definately buy this as a gift for someone with preschool children.
