Working in a daycare centre I see many different toys, many which are more popular than others with the children. This bus is so popular with the children at my current centre that we actually have 2 of them. Wheels on the Bus is such a popular song for young children so it is great having a toy which sings this song to them and that they can join in with.
The bus is bright and colourful and is very hands on with so much to touch and do and so many sounds to hear. There are 4 characters on the bus, the driver, school boy, a school girl and a dog, they each fit into the bus by matching the shapes on the bottom of each character with the shapes inside the bus. The characters are removable and safe for small children to play with, they are all in one piece so no loose bits to worry about.
The bus plays different verses of the song "The wheels on the bus go round and round". The verses change depending on certain parts of the bus that are manipulated; i.e., wheels, door, lights, windows, horn etc. It is definitely a lot of fun for little ones with endless things to explore, and the handle on the top of the bus makes it easy to transport.
Definitely a worth while investment for your little one which also supports their development of many important skills such as fine motor development, as well as their social, cognitive and emotional well being, hours of fun to be had here.
Looking for that perfect gift or toy for your little one aged under 5? Then look no further than the 'Wheels on the Bus' bus and figurines by Hasbro. Everybody knows the wheels on the bus, some may have differing versions and actions but we all know. Its popular at pre-school, playgroups and kindy and even still performed at school. Its an old classic song and it has been brought to life by Hasbro with this fantastic toy.
The bus is strong and well made, as are the figurines. My daughter got this when she was 2yrs old. She is 6 now and it is still going strong, and was a firm favorite with my 1yo niece and 8mnth old nephew who came to stay recently.
The little figures have different shapes at the bottom which fits into the matching shaped 'seat' inside the bus, so while children are enjoying play they are also learning about shapes. The door opens, the horn beeps, even the window wipers move, which are activated by the child, and then theres that wonderful music and favorite song too.
At rrp of around $50, which to some may seem a bit high, you cant go wrong. The price on this one reflects the durability and long lasting play and enjoyment your little ones will get from this toy...every cent worth it to see the smiles that light up every single time!
I have two children aged 14 months and nearly 3 years and this toy continues to be a favourite with both of them!
The moveable wheels are great for crawling skills, the interactive parts - horn, wipers, door, where the people sit (removable people) keep them amused for hours, and the song is now often sung by my older child complete with actions.
Durability wise - having two boys its been chucked around, bashed into walls, taken outside, driven through puddles and its still going strong with little more than an antibacterial wipe over every now and then.
Battery life is awesome, since we've had it (3 years) we've only changed them once! The top of the bus also acts like a great handle so the bus can be easily carried by all.
I highly recommend this toy.
I would love to say as a Parent, I love this toy. My eldest daughter got this as a gift when she turned 1yrs old for her birthday. Two more girls later.... my other daughter's benefit from playing with the "wheels on the bus" by Playskool. I currently have my 3.5 yr girl and 1 yr old girl playing with it now.
Do you know what the best thing is???? We haven't changed the batteries once!!! The batteries are proving to be quite sturdy.
So to clarify we have had the wheels on the bus toy for 6 years! Wow :)
It is a safe toy, with lovely kid people that ride in the bus and one teacher and a dog. The doll like figures (and dog) fit snuggly in little people's hands for easy care free playing.
Nothing breaks or is hard to work on the "wheels on the bus"
I totally recommend this as a "go to" toy for parents buying for their child (ren) or family or friends to buy for a child that is around 1 years old.
My daughter discovered this toy at a friend's place and as a result received one for her 3rd birthday that year... we had to get it for her, she adored it that much.
The wheels on the bus is a classic song/rhyme that everybody, young and old, knows and knows well... and this toy just makes that classic song a little more exciting.
The bright colours, wonderful music/song, and the different movement activities are great. Open the door, remove the passengers. Close the door, oh no it's raining, switch on the window wipers. Next stop, quick beep the horn, open the door and put the passengers back in the bus. All the while.... sing along :)
The fact this toy is enjoyable and fun while encouraging hand eye coordination, and learning through role play really does make it an absolute winner.
Our daughter is nearly 5 and she still has her wheels on the bus, still bright and still going strong, so we can definitely vouch that it is durable and can handle the tough times our little ones often out their toys through.
It caught my son's eye straight away, the bright colours and little jingles that went along with the different characters on the bus. He loved playing with the little people in the bus and putting them back in and finding their correct places on the bus. He loved pushing it around and hearing all the jingles to do with the song "the wheels on the bus...". It entertained him for quite awhile.
