I purchased one of these Baby's First Fitted Waterproof Quilted Mattress Protector's when my first baby came along. I had read a little bit about wrapping the mattress in plastic for health reasons and then suffocation issues due to plastic on mattresses. As a first time mum, I was caught between trying to do the right thing and trying to do the right thing. In the end I decided to get this mattress protector. It is waterproof so I figured it may act as a good barrier between the mattress and baby. Though I was hesitant that she might still suffocate, I had nothing to worry about.

This waterproof under-sheet is quilted and fitted. It fitted snugly on the mattress we had purchased for my daughter's cot. It felt secure and it did a great job saving her mattress from every little nappy leak, as well as her spills. When she got her first tummy bug, it was a mattress-saver as well. It was relatively easy to wash and dry. Though one day I did get a bit impatient and I put it in the drier. The drier did wrinkle the plastic backing - after all it is not designed to be put in a drier. But it didn't get holes so still worked just fine.

I have recently dug this sheet back out and it's now on my newest daughter's cot mattress. It is continuing to do a stellar job protecting the mattress from her leaks and spills too. $25 for a mattress protector that has easily lasted through two children, is great value to me!

The baby first mattress protectors are most definitely worth purchasing and absolutely wonderful. They wash up great and dry easily too. I found the mattress protector fantastic. My sister prefers her bub to be in cloth nappies, which are wonderful but often lead to leakage, and the mattress protector was awesome to have here with bubs.
The other bonus is that they are soft, look comfortable and stylish too and do not cost the earth either.
A definite must have for new parents.

This mattress protector fitted my son's mattress perfectly and stays in place.

It is easily washed and dried.

Because it is quilted the bedding stays in place unlike with my old purely vinyl mattress protector.

My son used to sweat quite a bit with the old mattress protector but since he has had this one he has been heaps better!!

I love it and wouldn't use anything else. It protects well and looks and feels comfortable. The price is fantastic!

I recommend to all new mums or mums of toddlers!!
