Tadoodles Washable Crayon Buddies are the right size and shape for a child's first palm grasp to help in developing gross to fine motor skills.
They're designed for a child's first coloring experience, and built strong to hold up under heavy pressure. With each scribble, dab, and wiggle, your child's imagination will grow.
Product reviews...
Well I came across this product when I was just out and about. They caught my eye with the bright colours and the fun faces. My daughter was 17mths when I decided to get these, looking at the age on them for 12mths + so thought they would be wonderful for her.
I got them home and the eyes lit up wanting to draw right then and there so I let her loose with them of course on paper. Now these were easy for her to hold and scribble with. Great for my floors, tables and carpets as she put them down the spring up right with the bottoms balancing them.
My daughter learnt to pull the crayons out and couldn't get them back in after hours and days of trying she got the hang of pulling them out and putting them back in which I think was great for her changing the colours of the crayons herself, and good fine motor skills.
The only problem I had with this product was the crayons getting too small for the case, and my daughter not wanting to use the crayons once they wouldn't work while in the case.
So personally because of the way my kids minds work I wouldn't buy them again for my kids but I am happy to recommend this product for other parents with those edger artists I would even buy them for family and friends that have young children
I first came in contact with the TaDoodles products at a child/parent expo in Auckland. Crayola had a huge stand, with lots of fresh newsprint, all these amazing TaDoodles out and free for all to try.
Pushing my way to the table, through the screeds of children eagerly making their mark on the world. I got my hands on these crayons. I was immediately struck by the cuteness that is the animal characters. That they are designed to sit on their bottoms, and have a weeble effect, wobbling around when knocked. Even though they are designed for a child's first grip, they were fairly easy to work for an adult too.
These crayons come in a range of colours, and cute animal characters which make fun new art friends for your child. They are ergonomically shaped for baby's first grip. I got a pack for my daughter and she likes these almost more than the paints I got her. I think the crayons, gave her a feeling of more control and thinner lines. I also liked that these could be replaced or moved up when they ran low. That meant that I also didnt have to stick to one colour in there if I wanted.
These are a great first start for a child, prior to the triangle grip crayons/pencils also available through Crayola. An awesome product for the toddler in your life.
I found this product great as they are colourful and look really inviting as if they are saying "come and play with me!" My daughter loves these, and always packs a tantrum when it is time for them to be put away.
I think it is semi age-appropriate as my 2yr old daughter has trouble getting the crayons in and out so a 12mth old wouldn't be able to either. All that needs to be done to get the crayon out is, push the biggest part in and turn it. To get it back in you push it and turn it the opposite direction.
This is a great idea, however the crayons weren't very big, and are pretty easy to pull out. I so far haven't been able to find replacement crayons for when they have run out or if you want to try different colours.
Great product!
These are a great way to get crayons into the hands of the smallest kids. With big chunky holders these crayons are easy to grasp and hold and my 3 year old nephew really enjoyed playing with them. He was really impressed when he discovered that drawing a heavy outline with these first, then filling in the area with the paint pens gave him some great results, as the crayon stopped the "paint" ink from running over and outside the lines. The biggest trouble came when he accidentally would the crayon all the way out and he couldnt wind it back in. I had a go at it and after about an hour of frustration I just grabbed it and started to get a bit rough with it. That managed to get the crayon back in so be careful not to let the kids control that side of things or you could end up with broken crayons and screaming sprogs. A pretty good addition to the Crayola Beginnings range.
