Product reviews...
I must admit that I can't see many situations where you would want to throw a laptop and accessories into a backpack and go for a hike... unless of course you work for DoC, or a agricultural land-mapping service, or own a farm and have a GPS rig, or enjoy wildlife digital photography, or... well, OK... there is quite a list really.
Even if you don't need this to carry your laptop around, you'll find it an excellent backpack... comfortable padding to keep your shoulders and back at ease, not one, not two, but THREE thermally insulated pockets, a pocket for your music player big enough to fit even a portable CD player, (and a slot you can feed your earphone cable through) so you can cruise to the grooves without risking your player getting damp or dirty. There's even a coin pouch and a pocket for your sunglasses.
Just to see what I could fit into this bag, I loaded it up with all the toys... laptop, graphics tablet, CD player, mp3 player and headphones, USB speakers, webcam, a mouse (and a spare), some assorted pendrives and portable hard drives, plus some of my favourite music CDs... oh, and a spare set of clothes, some extra socks, a couple of water bottles and some museli bars... and hopped on my bike for a half hour ride to test for comfort.
Overall, I was very impressed. Normally, I find fully-laden backpacks rather uncomfortable after about 10 minutes (a hang-over from an old back injury) but this one was so well padded it lasted the full 35 minute trip without causing any pain or discomfort to my back or shoulders at all! My only problem with this bag was the small securing strap that holds the shoulder straps together... it is located too high, and rubbed against my neck even when I was only walking. Placing it lower would not only ensure comfort but better security too. My biggest kudo for this bag is the plastic loop on the end of each of the drawstraps... so easy to stick a thumb into and pull tight, even when the bag is heavily full. An(other) excellent design feature.
As for the style... a range of colours would be appreciated I feel...
