TASTE magazine launched in August 2005 and was an instant success. Its down-to-earth appeal and the practical yet interesting recipes brought the magazine an immediate group of fans among working mothers and other busy people who want tasty mid-week meal solutions.
This book gathers up some of the favourite recipes that have appeared during Taste's first year of publication. They range from easy finger foods and impressive recipes for entertaining, to a large selection of mid-week meals and delicious baking and desserts. The columnists are well-known food writers with lots of experience and a good practical approach.

I LOVE food books... especially ones with a variety of foods to try. Books that focus on one particular theme tend to leave me cold, so it was witrh great pleasure that I flicked through this one.
Of all the recipes, the one that caught my attention the most would have to have been the "Super Duper Louise Cake" on page 130... I have always enjoyed this delightful slice, despite my lack of enjoyment of most berries. Yeah, strange I agree, but theat's the way it goes. However, one recipe that caught my eye for a different reason was the Kaffir lime chicken kebabs. I have never managed to make a decent kebab mix that survives cooking, and this one look divine, and is on the menu for the next time I feel experimental... IF we ever get any decent BBQ weather!
Overall, I would say this would be an excellent addition to any culinary wannabe's library. Even experienced cooks would probably find something new in here... a new twist on a classic dish (the 4-Cheese Baked Maccaroni on page 70 for example) so it's worth a read through if nothing else.
