Bluetooth Hands-Free Headset product reviews

Not too bad really. it may be because i am slowly going deaf, or it could be that like another reviewer, i have a T610 phone, but i had a little trouble hearing the caller. the unit itself didn't want to fit my ear very well until I tried wiggling it around into the correct position, then it fit reasonably well but since i jog around a lot it kept slipping loose. the ability to adjust the tension of the ear-clip might be a good option for a future version for more active people.
It was really easy to set up, but i also found it did not want to handle incoming calls, and i didn't notice any buzz when i had an incoming txt, so i suspect the unit's performance is heavily affected by the features of the phone it is paired with.
In the end, i don't think this is the gadget for me, but if you need a really good handsfree kit, and you have the right phone, you will find this to be a brilliant unit.

I haven't owned a wireless capable phone before, so my recent purchase of a hand-set with this feature had me champing at the bit to try new stuff.

I found the set-up quite easy and straight forward. The sound quality suffered at first until I found a way to mould the hook around the back of my ear, and so putting the unit closer to my ear. I did notice that prolonged wearing caused an air blockage in my ear, making it very difficult to hear afterwards.

Another feature I found by accident was that the headset beeped whenever I got a text message. A VERY good thing, considering I am always checking my phone to see if I have messages, and it gets rather annoying. I am giving serious consideration to purchasing one of my own, now that I have had a chance to test it.

I was very eager to get my hands on this little unit. I have owned a bluetooth-enabled cellphone for a while now, because of the PDA I bought 2 years ago. So I was dead keen to combine the cellphone, PDA, PC (utilising the USB Bluetooth adaptor) and a handsfree kit. Wireless everything.

After unpacking it from it's box, reading through the manual and getting it paired to the cellphone, I was ready to go. Or so I thought. The cellphone took quite a bit or reconfiguring to get it to communicate properly. After setting up the phone (an hour-long ordeal) and trying to get the handset to pair correctly (another half an hour) I was finally ready to place an outgoing call utilising the headset and voice-dial.

Success, to a degree. The sound pickup quality of the headset is quite sloppy, meaning that I had to almost yell for the person on the other end to hear me properly. I found that if I wound up the speaker volume, it improved the microphone's quality... can't see the connection myself, but that's the way it happened.

It may also have had something to do with the fact that the headset won't clamp to my ear properly, it keeps slipping and rotating the microphone away from my mouth, and almost falling off most of the time. There is no adjustment of it's grip either, so either it fits, or you hand it back for a refund.

Another glitch I found was that the phone would allow me to answer by voice (Press the activation button and say "Answer" and it will divert an incoming call to the headset, instead of using it's own speaker/mic) and it appeared to be doing that just fine... except that nothing was going in or out of the headset itself. The phone was sensing a valid connection, but the headset wouldn't co-operate.

Overall, quite a let-down really. Not overly impressed, despite the good points that do work, there's a lot that appear not to as well. I'm thinking wireless isn't all it's cracked up to be.
